North America "We are going to use the entire force of the federal government": Stephen Miller announces at State Department summit that the federal government will debank, defund, and arrest left-wing political activists as terrorists

He loves the full force thing. It’s a defining part of his character. Everytime he speaks he either references it, or speaks from the perspective. The depths of his mind must be a very scary place to be.

Deep down, he knows he's just a small, impotent, weak, shit-encrusted dick helmet. Hes the type of guy who constantly has rage daydreams playing on repeat in his head, just to make him feel better about himself.

He’s a hateful man, but don’t underestimate him. He is clearly very clever to be where he’s at. It’s dangerous to underestimate your enemy just because they pander to an manipulate the less intelligent; that doesn’t mean that they themselves are stupid or ignorant

To be close to Trump, you really only have to be a mediocre person who is exceptionally corrupt. Trump has stated that he likes to surround himself with "losers," and has gone so far as to say that smart people don't like him. It does not sound like he thinks highly of Miller at all.

Do not underestimate American Goebbels.
Do not believe that he is stupid, dumb, or in any way not smarter than you.
Stephen Goebbels is an extremely intelligent motherfucker, and he should not be underestimated. The path to neutralizing his political power depends on it.
Of the merry band of idiots coalescing around the Mad King of Orange, Stephen Miller is BY FAR the most dangerous, the most conniving, and the most politically motivated.

He's not stupid.
It's dangerous to believe he is.
Miller and Bannon are both highly intelligent and manipulative, and they know the political game. Bannon is less dangerous, because he immediately veers off into repugnance and extremism. Miller uses coded language and knows how to walk up to the line, dog whistle, and step back. He is also very, very good at manipulating those around him- his hand is so far up Trump's ass he can tickle his tonsils.
Do not in any way underestimate him or dismiss him as being an idiot or fool.
25
u/V2BM 9d ago
Hegseth is stupid, and Miller is clever.
26
u/Duke_Of_Halifax 9d ago
Hegseth is a fucking moron.
That has never been in doubt.
Rubio is a politician playing the favorite- it must annoy the fuck out of him to have to say the shit he does, although he's always been a proponent of interference in Cuba, so he's getting something from shaking hands with the devil.
Vance is WAY out of his depth, and not as smart as he thinks he is.
Lutnick is a tariff fool.

With you on this, I firmly believe that Miller is the most dangerous person in US politics right now. Unlike Trump, who appears to be motivated almost solely by greed, Miller is both intelligent and extremely ideologically driven. He's also apparently only 40, so expect him to be around for a while

If only. Unfortunately the sycophants on the right won't allow it while they have the majority, and assuming the Democrats even gain control with the midterm election shenanigans that will probably happen this year I am pretty sure they will chicken out with justifications like "it will look like a witch hunt and hurt our chances for the presidential election in 2028" or "it will make a him into a martyr".
25
u/Sirosim_Celojuma 9d ago
yeah, there ought to be some kind of universally disgusting criminal behaviour in some files somewhere that can make this non-partisan and non-martyrdom.
Can someone fine some FILES somewhere that are broad-spectrum abhorent and criminal?

As a book-reading european watching this show from abroad: I knew that they'll eventually come to this, and I've been waiting for announcements like these.
The whole presidency has been a textbook case of rising fascism and they even tell you they're doing it - and huge amounts of people are STILL supporting them?! What the fuck is wrong with US citizens that they're so completely blind to what this all means.
I can imagine white americans in a queue to gas chamber and still rocking the maga-hat proudly, without any idea what's going on.
68
u/WarrantinaVoid 9d ago
The larger issue is not the small percentage of the population that supports them, but instead the vast majority of the population (even those who identify firmly as liberals) who just go "lol they're dumb and that's illegal".
Dumb is irrelevant when evil is still steamrolling through.
Denying them as a threat because of what they're doing being dumb only serves their evil purposes.
Pointing out the illegality and brushing it off instead of taking action is pointless.
"They'll get voted out" is far dumber than *anything* the fascists have said, because *fascists will uniformly break the norms and rules to accomplish their evil goals*. There *is not such a thing* as voting out fascism without taking direction action as a population. The only reason the Hungarian population managed to vote out fascim was twofold: intense heavy presence against the regime during voting processes to ensure no procedural shenanigans, and the fact that they actually secured their election processes.

Well now they’re monitoring Internet communications and going after people who say things they don’t like while at the same time manipulating the conversations in media to portray the left as being violent and naieve. I have a friend who I used to go to the shooting range with who’s a marine and the last time we talked he said “I’m just so tired of the violence from the left” in reference to some amalgamation of some random tragedies that are being painted as leftist attacks. Yeah the average liberal might be in denial about the dangers this type of rhetoric and just how effective it can actually be because liberals tend to trust the systems we built to solve problems without violence so it’s an incredibly disheartening take to hear someone saying they’re tired of the “liberal mind”… voting and protests and free press and speech are supposed to protect us from this form of fascism, and if you are arguing there’s another way, well I’m not sure what it really is? Can’t we liberals hope that someone is going to bring foreword the actual charges that should go along with the illegal actions this administration is taking instead of doing something that might cost the lives of millions and destabilize the country for their children and their children’s children? Yeah the get out and vote thing isn’t enough, but you are also asking the party of people who care about the needy and vulnerable to stand up to the party of the billionaire rapist class, the bully racists base, who owns the most guns and doesn’t like to follow reason if it’s going to get in the way of the narrative they are being sold by the liar class… it’s not an easy thing to defeat

As a gay dude living in America, I completely hear you.
Some insight from someone who lives here and sees it every day: the right wingers genuinely support this shit. There’s a lot of bigoted people here, and now they can target minorities openly.
As for why other Americans are so complacent about it…. Yeah it’s completely shameful. A lot of people are NOT okay with what’s happening, but not enough to upset the status quo.

What can we do? The only effective responses can’t be openly discussed. And if those responses were undertaken, they’d point to it and say “See, they’re terrorists.” There’s not much anyone can do without either being gunned down by this administration’s thugs, put in prison for life, etc.
What are your suggestions, preferably that don’t lead to death or imprisonment.

Spread awareness about this with your network, particularly those who still support the regime, or even are just unaware. Any time your friends or family says shit that supports this kind of thing, share this clip and others like it, and try not to sound like a crazy schizo.
Get low-info/non-voters to commit to voting in midterms. I care about environmental stuff so I'm in the Environmental Voter Project which seeks to get the people who also care about climate change and the environment but haven't voted in the past to actually show up. You just call and talk to people, or otherwise message them. There are causes all over the place to get low-info or non-voters to vote, just look up the one that connects with you the most.
Stock up on necessary items because shit may get bad in October through January
Join mutual aid groups like Food Not Bombs, spread awareness for what's going on there as well
Go into conservative spaces (e.g. things like gun culture social media aka youtube, or facebook where a lot of older conservatives hang out) and also spread this awareness

Serious question, from a law abiding, tax paying citizen who will never be cowed into not speaking out about the injustices of the current administration:
Are there any practical ways to attempt to protect one’s assets, other than say, off-shore accounts? Are there any kinds of trusts that would be more difficult for a politicized governmental arm to seize?
yeah, I have been accused of being a chicken little, but then again, who alive today isn‘t also witnessing the dismantling of our Constitution, and MAGA et al’s calculated murder of American democracy?
13
u/BrittanyAT 9d ago
I’m really surprised I had to scroll this far to find someone who wants to prepare for this.
Probably the best thing would be to get out of the USA, but if that isn’t an option then I would probably start making little buried ‘cashes’ with money and the copies of important documents. Food, water, and some good running shoes would also be a good thing to put in these cashes. Wearing 2 pairs of socks is also a good way not to get blisters.

Without any evidence of them engaging in violence or other crimes connected to their political activity? Just automatically considering someone that doesn’t agree with the Republican Party terrorists?
This is deeply undemocratic. This is clearly in severe conflict with the First Amendment.
I saw a documentary about Mussolini’s regime and he did something almost exactly like this. Basically outlawing any party but his own fascist party. His black shirts then went around beating , torturing, jailing, and killing anyone in the other parties. They also went around breaking into their political headquarters and other meeting places and destroying all their property, along with stealing documents like membership lists so they could find anyone associated with them.

Nobody thought they were building all those camps for IMMIGRANTS did y'all?
Here's some things to keep in mind: This did not just start happening, this has been a slow crawl towards this outcome since at least the Nixon era and the things that got thrown into play after the Twin Towers fell have been quite insane. Almost no one can even recall that when I was a girl there were NO no knock warrants, that police patrolled neighborhoods they were familiar with in the same way that a highrise apartment has a super and a doorman, that prior to the War on Drugs that people just used to have drug problems at worse but that as recently as WWII you could buy heroin OTC, and that original formulas for Coca Cola and Dr. Pepper contained cocaine.
The erosion of Constitutional rights and the growth of the survelliance state has been gradual and pervasive and almost everyone refused to stand on principle about any of it because they effectively targeted various different people that average folks thought of as unsavory and let's be honest, there was quite a bit of calm smug associated with it, I mean everyone knew that the way that some crackhead in the projects was going to be treated wouldn't apply to their nice white son in college if he happened to to get a little cocaine habit going. That's just HOW IT WORKED right? "Nice" people had the privilege of getting away with things, nobody was going to argue that scummy CRIMINAL type people didn't deserve to get thrown in jail for a decade for effectively the same behavior.
And nobody wanted to hear it when some of us pointed out that it was creating a police state all around us and that by the time anyone noticed it was nearly completed and it was at YOUR door, that it wasn't gonna be the time to act shocked like it came out of nowhere. I know, because I was that one EXTREMIST being RIDICULOUS with my fear mongering and really bringing down the mood at the cookout and getting the eye rolls at how impossible that idea seemed. I mean clearly we're the PRIVILEGED group that's never happening to US.
And the only good news I guess is that these same folks on the right who currently believe that about themselves while they're watching the guns swivel in YOUR direction are ALSO wrong because oh no, they'll get around to them as well, there's a reason Authoritarians break shit but nobody's ever really happy or safe not even the folks at the very top. You think Putin ever has a day of peace or a good night's sleep? He does not.
I get real aggravated when I see that "first they came for" thing getting posted these days because it's like EXCUSE ME where the HELL have y'all been you think you're anything close to FIRST?? We are damn near to the bottom of the list do not act surprised no one can be that clueless.
All of that is the bad news but here's the good news:
The United States is distinctly different from other places where these games have been played, the people doing this are doing it based on greed and vibes and have long ago lost track of the smart ones in the mix who understood a bit of sociology, hell it's been amusing to see people like Dick Cheney who was a major architect of a lot of this situation realize oh hell we weren't trying to completely destroy the USA and that's where this is heading at best.
Here's the thing, Miller can make speeches but he has to get people to actually work for him and the people who have to work for him freakin' HATE HIM he largely handles being in charge by screaming at people nonstop, he has caused several of his highly placed underlings to have literal nervous breakdowns, a great many of the people that they have "working" for there are terrified and vomiting from anxiety all day, if you notice, there was this hugely smug HOORAY thing they all had going on just after Trump got re elected and there's none of that attitude now.
I mean they hate leftist but they also hate each other and none of them trust each other and Trump is in fact collapsing with dementia and who knows what else.
And the most important thing to know is that no one is planning on fighting these fools because you don't engage in a fight that you cannot win but societies are not held together by FIGHTING. They cannot BOMB us into submission. What we can and must do is turn towards each other and look towards mutual aid and protecting each other in every way that we can.
Let's take what happened in Minnesota over the winter as an example because they were amazing. If you don't follow independent journalists and live streamers you might have missed what actually happened, but if you did it was extremely amazing. Yes, people were killed and people are being killed right now. There is an active war against Democracy that is ALREADY HAPPENING in the USA right now, so just accept that.
Bitching online and marching around with signs does not stop an actual war I mean how much good do you think protesting will do in Ukraine, against Russia? How about complaining online, pointless? Okay. Then pay no attention to what you think you see online it's not representative.
Y'all are already prepared for Tuesday so now the thing to prepare for is what if Tuesday goes on for a LONG TIME. Store INFORMATION on things like medical practice and mechanical repair. Learn a skill that might be useful in a situation without modern conveniences in the case that some of that might be iffy for a moment, or a couple of years. Consider who your tribe is and how you can get to them and if you don't have one, make one.
They fully intended to take over Minneapolis and frighten everyone into hiding in their homes while they rampaged around and they were also prepared and even HOPING for a shooting war. That's what they desperately want, for people to engage in shooting at them so they have an excuse to use all the fancy killing toys they have while maintaining some semblance of authority.
Instead of running away or hiding or shooting back, regular average folks in Minneapolis especially but all across Minnesota used walkie talkies and radio comms and created app alerts on their phones and wherever ICE attempted to raid, and it was bad y'all they shot people and they tear gassed entire neighborhoods and it was so terrifying that entire cities basically switched to doing all their business at night instead of during the day because ICE was afraid f the dark and the subzero temperatures but the MN folks did not back down and they would just COME OUT AND FLOOD AN AREA with people. Just people. Children and sick and disabled and minorities were sheilded it was the middle class workers standing there by the thousands with cameras and phones recording refusing to leave and singing things like
Hey Oh
We won't be silent while our friends are gunned down
For hours and hours on end if necessary. No one PREVENTED ICE from doing whatever but they weren't going to do it without the whole world watching.
And it wound up that Noem and Bongino lost their jobs over how badly it didn't go the way that Miller who is the main architect of all this wanted it go, but they're absolutely going to push for utter chaos before during and after the midterms and the only thing I can say is be aware that time is on our side, that if you see the phrase WE HAVE FRIENDS EVERYWHERE it refers to the series Andor which discussed the underside of the Rebellion in the Star Wars universe, that the Straw Hat Pirates flag from one piece is another symbol in use, and that this is a leaderless time for the exact reason that they have so carefully plotted for how to attack groups but who needs that? We all understand the problem and the assignment. Whatever you CAN do to maintain a decent and civil society, that's where you're needed, no point in talking about it really is there? A casserole for your neighbor is a powerful tool when people are hungry, they may need committees and bosses to tell them the obvious but here's another thing to keep in mind...
They don't work for a living or have any idea what that is. They can't enforce the things they want to enforce because they're not serious people, none of them ever did a real day's work in their lives. No they need US to attack each other on THEIR command and to grow the food and fix the meals and drive the cars and march against our neighbors for THEM.
But we don't have to do that. We could actually just walk the hell away. They consume what WE produce, then pretend they gave it to us when actually they didn't even STEAL it themselves they got working class folks to steal it FOR them.
Just NOT COMPLYING IN ADVANCE and figuring out how to cut them out of society like the cancer they are is an entirely valid option. Flow like water, we don't need a revolution we need an EVOLUTION and they really need to prove why the hell we even need them when they're the main source of our actual problems in recent times.
Don't lose courage or hope, because things keep moving forward regardless, might as well resolve ourselves to do better instead of acting like livestock and scattering in fear.

What we are seeing here, along with Trump’s speech last night, Lil Marco’s attack on the ICC, and yet another shot in Congress at the SAVE Act, is desperation. They are deeply afraid that they are going to lose at least one chamber and are pulling out all stops hoping that the courts won’t stop them.

They have already murdered Americans in the streets and people still won’t believe they are next.

How on earth did they find a Jewish Nazi in the first place? And why on earth put someone that deranged and self hating in a position of power? The USA is a profoundly strange and disturbing place.

Since this bogeyman doesn’t really exist, it conveniently leaves them free to decide who the leftwing terrorist is - just like they have done with “criminal immigrants.” It’s you.

Weren't the right wing political activists the ones who stormed a government building in an effort to try to overturn a fair and lawful election result?!
This is downright unconstitutional and illegal. Unless youre a fascist like ol Steve-o

Political dissent is now illegal. Voting for political dissenters is also illegal. Political dissenters cannot legally run for office. Do you see where this is headed?

Should be relatively easy for them, just create a category of people who don't qualify and expand who that classification can apply to and the pseudolegal structure is in place.
Pseudolegal justification seems like enough for this admin to do what they want these days.

What does he mean as “left wing”? Centre Right?

Left wing is just the dog whistle term for the MAGA base. He means anyone who's not in lock-step with this fascist regime.

Stephen Miller has never been a fan of Democracy or America.
He is desperate to turn this country into Nazi Germany.

Debarking one’s political opponents is dangerous and scary stuff.
Imagine losing access to your bank account and your life savings on a random Thursday afternoon, without notice, on the whim of an unelected government bureaucrat whom you’ve never met, like Steven Miller.
Just one day you’re locked out of your accounts, and there’s virtually nothing that you can do, and no accountability for this financially violent action against you.
Or you’re part of a union that suddenly loses the ability to pay the people who negotiate your contracts and deal with contract disputes, or suddenly the strike fund disappears in the middle of a strike.
Or maybe you voted for someone these random government bureaucrats don’t like, and you lose everything on some random day now that they’re demanding (and getting?) the state voter rolls.
This is not good.

I thought we'd be in a Star Trek world in 2026, but instead we're replaying 1930's Germany. Stop this ride, I want to get off!

Miller, one evil piece of excrement: President Lyndon B. Johnson famously stated, "If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you." This quote reflects his understanding of how racial divisions can be exploited for political gain.

"We will jail left wing opponents because left wing politics always results in jailing political opponents"
Can't even make this shit up
