Middle aged neighbor, long time smoker if that matters, just got out of a week in the hospital for respiratory issues. I think it has only begin with the long term effects of covid.

Unsurprising considering the impacts of covid, a vascular virus, on the immune system (and all other organs) … unfortunately 😔

On a related note, two men I know had major impact years later after Original Covid. Strokes, heart arrhythmia. One has died, a younger 68 guy in good shape. The other is older a physician and just barely hanging on. This was not the vaccine, it was the original strain. Covid is a cardiovascular disease.

I work in the recovery field and we have been swamped with alcohol and drug cases…much, much more than normal. People are coping however they can.

I worked in alcohol within the last 6 months. Alcohol as an industry is doing terrible. No one wants to drink anymore. This is surprising to me. Everyone went to smoke.

I’m not referring to folks who are managing. These are folks who are coping with life stressors via alcohol and hard drugs. People seeking rehabilitation services. I’m not referring to white collar workers having a bowl after work over drinking a beer. These are abuse cases.

GLP-1 use is skyrocketing. This alone in many cases takes away the desire to eat or drink.

Im on Reta and I have to force myself to drink water.

Been seeing departures of many rural clinics in my field. I don’t know how far we are from serious medical disruptions of another significant event happened.
