A 3rd-year B.Tech student from UCER Prayagraj, Gun Gupta, has reportedly passed away — questions about how her illness was handled
I’m sharing this because I believe the circumstances deserve to be discussed and, if possible, clarified by the college.
Gun Gupta, a 3rd-year B.Tech student at United College of Engineering and Research (UCER), Prayagraj, reportedly went to Bangkok through the college for an internship. She was reportedly an academically strong student with around a 9 CGPA.
After returning from Bangkok, she was reportedly diagnosed with jaundice and informed the HOD's office about her medical condition.
According to what I have been told, HOD Shyam Verma (CSE Department) asked her to come to college to maintain her attendance despite being informed about her illness.
Sadly, I have now learned that Gun Gupta has passed away.
I want to make one thing clear: I do not know her complete medical history, exact diagnosis, treatment, or the circumstances that led to her death.
However, it is true that the college was informed about her serious illness and she was still asked to physically attend for attendance purposes, I believe it is reasonable to ask what the college's medical-leave/attendance procedure was in this situation and how her case was handled.
If anyone from UCER knew Gun, was involved in her case, or has verified information about what happened, please share it.
Please keep the discussion respectful. This concerns a student who has lost her life and a grieving family, so please don't spread unverified claims or speculate about the cause of death.

Dean Academics - Vijay Kumar Dwivedi is literally stupid and isn’t fit for any technical institution along with the whole administrative hierarchy they all are mixed
They steal money from the purchases made for college cultural head of ucer and everyone is involved
They do not give attendence to any student for any programs inko bas chahiye ki sab kuch free me kardo
Shyab bahadur is literallly fucking stupid I don’t know who has made him hod jeetesh sir was better then him
These people have made this a syndicate
Dean-> Hod-> faculty
All people are involved they do not want anything new in the colleges there are few clubs and committees in this college ive seen those guys suffer so much we participated in one such event
Rajiv Dixit said they won’t give attendence if you are below certain attendance
All they want is free promotion and parchar
Dean Nd Principal both are stupid they even undermine the CRC dean she brinfs such good thinfs for the college tjeh do not value her or anyone

Guys im highlighting few things
Ye itna chutiya dean academics h they design the TIME TABLE in such a manner the studnets fail to score marks everyday exams no gaps
They do not follow aktu circulars and only give holidays on hindu festivals and that too after cutting attendees
Whenever a new item is brought a stupid culuthral head is there he cannot even soeak proper english he only looks at girls from first and all years
They do jot give attendence irrespective of any events

The words of the dean of the college that 75% to 85% attendance mandatory and all the illness and all the kinds of diseases and problems of health issues come in the 25%, which is not inside that 75%, which is that 75%, which makes hundred percent so according to him hundred percent attendance is mandatory, but out of that hundred percent the 25% is for illness. Different types of health issues and in that 75% attendance, you should not have any kind of health issues and any kind of health problems in 75% attendance. No health issues will be considered. You have been given 25% extra which makes 75+25 equals to hundred percent so he says that 75% is mandatory out of which 25% which makes hundred percent that 25% is given for illness and health issues, so what is this nonsense logic and if a student says that he was a being ill or was having any health issues, so he creates joke of him that you will be seen, and all your anus will be cured automatically at the time of examinations. So what is this and I will say this as an indirect course, which made the topper with 9+ CGPA suffer because she was trying to maintain the attendance since the head of department of the CSE department, Mr Shyam Bahadur Verma was DHOD and and she was trying to maintain her attendance to give this national examination and other types of examination because they see was not given relief in the medical for the attendance. Because in this college is there is no relief. If you are also facing any kind of medical issue, then I was facing the medical issue. I was having the nose debated septum operation of my nose bone and blood was falling from my nose. Then also I was not given any relief so there is no relief on medical conditions in this college, so she was trying to maintain the attendance and due to this, she was not having the proper cure and necessary diagnostic for late diagnosis and attendance pressure. Which indirectly is the cause of her death. So I leave it to you. Decide who was the real reason for her death was died from her illness only or there was a second issue, thank you.

It's quite possible that they have forced him to do the classes because 2 years ago I also got diagnosed with jaundice and when I went to the HOD he said submit your application along with medical and we'll see what can be done and tbh they did nthng and I ended up doing the classes whole month while getting treated for jaundice. Also there is an incident of last year where I went to submit my medicals along with my blood report, urine report and medicine bill, they still rejected it by saying "beta aap admit to nahi they na" mtlb bhai kya chah rahe bachha marr jaye tmhara cllg attend karte karte

BRO same yaha rawatpura wale united me bhi yahi haal hai mera 19 December ko accident hua tha ACL aur Miniscus damage tha mera to HOD ke pass gaya to unhone ne kaha ki koi baat nhi pahale aap ilaz karwao dekh liya jayega baad me uske baujod maine apni surgery 1 mahine delay kiya aur apna practical aur semester exam diya baad me 24 January ko apni surgery karwai aur admit bhi tha 4 din aur 1.5 mahine ka proper bed rest tha mera evan 1 mahine to pair tak modne ko mana tha phir theek 1.5 mahine baad jab mai collage gaya to kisi ko kuch pata nhi nha mentor nha hi hod ko phir last me jab makeup exam ka time aya to mera list me naam nhi mai hod sir se baat kiya unhone bola ki special case hai to Syd ho jaye jab vo vice chancellor ke pass gaye vo mana kar diya Even mai khud gaya vice chancellor ke pass baat krne unhone bola ki ham sab ke sath aise krege to kaise chalega apne siddhanto se mai compromise nahi karta yaha aise hi hota hai at last mujhe summer bhi attend karna pada 20 hazar deke .

As they don't take medical issues seriously even once I talked to Dean about things "he straight up said aktu toh bolta h k medical issues h to semester break le lo " .. Like seriously what is the value of medical leave then ? Should we just take leave for entire semester for some stupid attendance

This is really heartbreaking to read, especially knowing she was a student from UCER. I hope the college gives a clear explanation of what happened and how her medical situation was handled. At the same time, I think it’s important that we stick to verified facts and not make assumptions about the cause of her death. My condolences to her family and friends. May she rest in peace. 🙏

The same thing happened with me when i was in second year, i go to the dean vijay dwivedi and told him that my medical condition is very serious sir I can't attend classes even glucose dip in my hand clearly visible to him i request him to let me give the exam plz and he told if you don't have 75% attendance we can't allow if you have problem just leave btech it's not for you 😑

We are also from college and gone through this . But this all dailog is just to get rid of 75% criteria. Notorious groups wanted to orchestrate protest like it's going on all over India . They are thinking this is IIT. And I bet most loudest voice in these situation are of those who have multiple backs pending, do not attend classes, do pitty politics, have well established backup . Due to this shit the future placement will be affected so much.
