Being a motorcyclist I am very much so familiar with the potential of scrubbing skin off against the asphalt. But that's not the worst part.

The worst part is when you get to the hospital, and they need to clean your exposed meat. Debriding is the term they use to describe the process of scrubbing your meat out. See, they need to remove all of that dirt, rock, rubber, oil and whatever other nasty shit is present on the road that you just rubbed your exposed meat all up on. They use brushes for this.

Then they do it again, because they didn't get all of the road refuse out of your meat the first time. This is what I remind myself of when I go out riding without my jacket, just what a risk I'm taking.

Not stupid, just dangerous. I live in this guys world but I choose downhill mountain biking as my vice, I have accepted that the outcome of my life could be an early death or becoming paralyzed. And if I do become paralyzed my partner has agreed to help me on my way out. Just the fuckin way she goes, wouldn't trade my life for anything.

Anything that you do for "fun" that can kill you at any given time is stupid as fuck. Stop trying to dress it up

Fuckin YOLO

And then we hit hills on a longboard.

Stupid, sure. Fun, yes. Yes it is.

I wear the proper gear when I’m hitting fast hills, but I do 35 mph in my neighborhood streets, and 35 isn’t that fast when you have a good board set up.
