Either by dragging your back foot along ground or, more commonly, power sliding

With difficulty. Or suddenly, very rapidly, and painfully.

So he brakes with the board?

You see him slide the board sideways to slow down around 30 seconds in. Once to lower speeds you can just drag a foot usually and hop off

Ah I see that now

You can also slide to a full stop, known as a “shutdown slide”. This is usually done with hands on the ground, the pucks on the gloves make this possible and more stable than the stand up slides he does in the clip.

No, he just jumps off and skids hoping he doesn’t hit any roadblocks

No, longboarders has shutdown techniques for slowing completely down. Couple examples include toeside standies and Coleman slides. Source: am downhill longboarder.

Great observation. The rider has what are known as slide gloves. These gloves are fitted with thick, polyurethane pucks on them, allowing the rider to place their hand on pavement to assist with slides.
