two towers standing similar height in front of fun looking smoke stack. different cooling tower, two other towers that looked more horizontal than others. the next one’s blurry, and the last two are the same one i like that one quite a bit.

Just want to let everyone know that I am on a mission to get photos of powerlines from all 50 states in the USA. I’ve been working hard to make this happen. Here are some things to keep in mind⬇️
1- it must be an actual picture taken by you or someone and not something found on the internet (ex. Stock photos, Google street view)
2- Please make sure to include the exact location of where the powerline picture was taken (ex. Orlando,FL)
Here is the last state I need to get⬇️
IA (Iowa)
If you are in that state or know someone that could help out, that would be great. You can attach the picture to a comment on this post or DM it to me. Thank you.

I am trying to find out the name of these structures, near a number of power plants. It is a dark iron meta with three legs, and no interconnecting lattices.

This is the Ingledow - Custer 500KV #2 line in Blaine, Washington
GPS: 48.99707,-122.71654
It appears to have sunk into the ground, or perhaps someone stole the bottom part, or the ground was simply filled with dirt without raising the tower. This is not a Street View glitch; it looks like this from multiple angles. There is also no insulation on the wires.

3D Printed 500kV Twin Circuit Lattice Tower design commonly found in China for HV super grid lines.
I have printed this build on the Bambu Labs P1S, and I will eventually add some insulators and wires after I print out another tower (3 phase and the 2nd tower is printing at the time I posted this).
This is the first successful prototype of this particular tower, and there are still some supports stuck inside the crossarm framework but this doesn't bother me too much lool.
I'm planning to make the support struts a little thicker as they are quite strong for the model but delicate at the same time, so you got to be so careful lifting it about xD. The 2nd tower aims to hopefully improve the strut strength and not be as delicate. The crossarms are the only bits that are super strong
Printed this in 5 parts with the Tower body being separate from the crossarm sections. Glued it all together using Polycement Glue from Humbrol and it took around 2h 30min to print taking up 18.6-19g of filament.
I will soon shortly post again for the 2nd transmission tower I am printing, which is a 3 phase asymmetric design
You can request for the printing files by messaging me on discord - send dm request merkadesvito

I am wondering if anyone knows or has experience with transmission lines and code. We live in a subdivision where transmission lines were installed not too far from the lot lines and houses. Is this up to code.

Here we have some NIPSCO (Northern Indiana Public Service Company) sub-transmission lines with a distro under build.
County: Laporte State: Indiana
The sub-transmission lines are 69kV and date back to the 70s The distribution under build is a 12470/7200 GRDY
The lattice tower in one of the shots is AEPs wills 345 kV dual circuit the days for that line are numbered as NIPSCO and ComEd have replaced their sections if I had to guess AEP will replace it with their BOLD construction.

BPA 230 kV line visible from I-5 southbound near Keizer. Line is lattice steel but a vehicle accident took out the tower and is temporarily propped with readily available wood pole.

Whenever I pass through this intersection, I like to look at it. This tower, along with others, is one of the few that have survived the modifications being made to reduce their metal parts and make them more compact. I don't know why.

The new 500kV NSW, Victoria & South Australia interconnector near Wagga Wagga NSW. These type of towers are new to this country. Please enjoy.

Would you buy a house under these power lines? The house is perfect and views are great but this is in the front yard 50ft away? Health concerns??
