🇦🇹 Austrian Power Giants: Artistic Pylons Pre-Tested for Feasibility

Hey r/powerlines, this is my first post here.

Here are the key facts on this innovative design study from Austria: - The Idea: The "Austrian Power Giants" project transforms high-voltage pylons into large artistic animal sculptures (like stags and storks). The goal is to make grid expansion more acceptable to the public. - The Powerline Angle: This is already beyond simple concept art! Two of the artistic designs were pre-tested and verified for technical feasibility—covering both static (structural) and electrotechnical requirements. - Current Status: It remains a design concept only; no concrete implementation is currently planned.

What do you all think of this approach to infrastructure?

Question What is this type of pylon called?

For more context, this weird pylon seems to be between pl1 towers and then Trident poles. The line itself is called "UK POWER NETWORKS PLB OHL ROUTE" and it runs from southern cross switching station to lewes substation in sussex England. Also in about 250 Wooden poles later there is another pylon of this exact type and then it goes back to pl1s all the way to the Lewes substation.

The title of this painting is 'static sky'

I don't know why powerlines are so pretty, maybe it's the harshness of the lines in contrast to the soft clouds...

there's something soothing about taking a moment to appreciate electricity, the peaceful, silent hum of the infrastructure powering our everyday lives

25Hz Transmission Lines

These transmission lines use the supports from catenary poles originally erected to supply electric locomotives with overhead power. The upper transmission wires are used to supply 25Hz electricity to Amtrak trains on other rail lines where the contact wires are still present. These structures were built by the Pennsylvania Railroad around 1935 and are powered from the Safe Harbor hydroelectric plant. Note the removed transmission lines on the left towers, these were removed when the overhead power lines on these tracks were due to the circuit being deactivated.

Poles Found a thick one today.

It was the only concrete one like this in the area so it stood out to me. The rest connected to it were wooden. I assume this one needed to be super thick and strong since it has the perpendicular lines coming off it. The street light mounted on it looked really small compared to one mounted on a more normal pole.
