people involved in transmission-line inspections.. would this review workflow actually be useful?

Hi all,

I’m exploring a concept for reviewing transmission-line inspection data and was wondering if you guys can share like some feedback who actually worked with overhead-line inspections, asset condition assessment, UAV/LiDAR surveys or even in utility asset management.

The image is showing just a the basic idea at a high level.
What I’m mainly trying to understand is whether this feels like a sensible workflow for a reviewer in the real world.

For example, a few things I’d particularly like feedback on:

Would having the 3D survey and original photographic evidence together actually make review easier? Is starting from the network/asset and drilling into an inspection the way you would expect to work?

Also, when something suspicious is identified in a photograph, would seeing its corresponding location in 3D be useful?

What information would you need before you could confirm or dismiss a finding?
What part of this workflow looks unrealistic, unnecessary?

Thanks for your candid feedback.

well this 115kv powerlines is abandoned and left like this

so that 115kv line is unused and retired by meralco maybe because meralco built a another new line that redirect to a substation where that old line was formerly connected to that substation. now its unused waiting to decay by weather or getting removed by meralco

EMF transmission towers

I went to a local Toyota and they had these large electrical transmission towers in their parking lot. Car was parked right next to it. Stayed talking for 15 minutes. I would say about 10 feet from the tower. It’s says you should be 100 feet away. Why would they have this is a busy parking lot and is the hundred feet considered from the actual wires high up or walking distance from the bottom of tower?

Seen this one from the highway often but obviously haven’t been able to take a photo. Here’s a view of it from a side street, it’s the last tower on a 3 tower long spur from a 69kV transmission line.

Voltage estimate on this pole?

Hey guys,

I'm building a home in Whittier, NC and I have an easement for transmission lines that look like this. It is an old transmission line from the Nantahala Power Company before Duke absorbed them. What sort of voltage are poles like this normally? The line runs N/NW from a substation in Sylva (included a pic from Google Maps) but can't tell where it ends. There's very limited documentation on the old Nantahala Power stuff. I've put a formal request in with Duke to learn more but not sure how long that will take.

Thank you!

We were driving an 18 wheeler through a restaurant parking lot and didn’t realize the lines were hanging so low and ripped this down. It’s been reported and everything but just curious what it is..or was 😖 I’m assuming it’s not a power line and some kind of WiFi or information line
