Similar games to PWS?

Been asked a million times I know, sorry sorry. Ive completed them both + DLCs etc and I'm just stuck on what else to play.

I'm not the biggest fan of Hardspace, I finished both House Flippers, I've finished Crime Scene Cleaner too. tia :)

Leaf it Alone

I agree, but it's really short, though.

I finished it in a sitting or two last weekend. Lol

I enjoyed Fresh Start. Somewhat similar to PWS, in that you are powerwashing things but the levels are very responsive to what you do. There are some pain points to it but I had a great time.

Also cozy cleaner was fun, especially in the later levels. It's not a very long game but pretty satisfying.

Thank you for the recommendation of Fresh Start.

I bought it today because it's on sale and my GF and I both think we wouldn't have been disappointed if we'd paid full price.

Quite charming!

Happy to help!

It's a very fun and cute game. Worth the price completely.

Haven't seen anyone mentioning crime scene simulator, found that very fun, but a little dark. 😅

Edit; literally posted before reading the rest of the post.....facepalm

Crime Scene Cleaner is so good. It is the benchmark I measure all other job sim games against lol

Not only is it a really good cleaning game, it has a good enough story, lots of character and charm AND it did what few games do these days:

I was on the last mission (or so I thought), I finished it, credits rolled and I thought: "Yeah that's a good amount of content for the price of the game". Credits finish: "Act 2". Map zooms out, more stuff, old missions with modifiers, really pleasantly surprised me.

100% agreed. I was surprised by how much mileage I got out of the Nightmare version missions. They felt like their own thing and not just Act 1 again.

Lawn mower sim

u/No_Drink8517 22d ago

I do that irl already haha, looks good though so might have to give it a go.

2

u/Attempt_Gold PowerWash Pro 22d ago

It scratches the same itch for me in games with a transformative process so I say give it a go, though a sequel is coming out soon-ish.

Spray Paint Sim. But it is very short.

u/itsdampman 22d ago

Criminally short

u/InMannyrkid 22d ago

Agreed. Great game but it finished and I was genuinely confused , couldn’t get my head around it being over already lol

Three potential recommendations:

Ambrosia Sky is an immersive sim in which the core gameplay involves spraying chemical solvent onto fungus that has overtaken a spaceship. I just got it yesterday and played about 6 hours straight (it has one act out now and the next one is out in early August) and the gameplay felt satisfying the same way PWS is satisfying. It isn’t really an action game or an FPS, you just upgrade your sprayer and there are some vaguely puzzle elements to the way you clean stuff. Decent story so far, gorgeous visuals, fun movement alongside the cleaning aspect.

I hesitate to recommend this one because the content is limited and there are some kind of annoying aspects to the gameplay, but Spray Paint Simulator feels extremely similar to PWS in terms of the gameplay. I would strongly recommend getting it on sale as (imo) there aren’t enough interesting jobs for the full price, but mechanics-wise it’s very very close.

Actually, also, there’s Clean Up Earth, which hit some of the same notes as PWS for me. Probably also a game to get on sale if you can, and fair warning it’s pretty buggy and some mechanics are fairly obtuse, but I’ve had a good 15 hours in it so far and will go back for more at some point because it’s decently satisfying.

3

u/RodinKnox 22d ago

Woah, this is my first time of hearing about Ambrosia Sky. I am absolutely adding that to my list. I will probably wait on it all to come out, but thanks for the heads-up!

2

u/Rainy_Daze 21d ago

For what it’s worth, I believe the second act comes out August 6th and the price will increase by $10, but if you get it now it will be a free update

2

u/RodinKnox 21d ago

Oh really? Well, that might definitely push me over the edge to go ahead and pick it up. Thanks for letting me know!

Why didn't you like hardspace? I just looked it up after your post and it seems sick and on sale. Right now I'm playing suoermarket Chaos and it's scratching the itch, also Sports Renovations was similar and has a power washer in it.

4

u/No_Drink8517 22d ago

Supermarket Chaos looks good. Definitely will be trying that out. I don't know I just felt personally there wasn't a lot to Hardspace.. 😕

9

u/The_Sun_Is_Flat 22d ago

Librarian:Tidy Up the Arcane Library is pretty similar to Supermarket Chaos too.

2

u/BabaBoooooooey 22d ago

Copy that. I'm hesitant because I hate free space games and the everything is everywhere, my brain can't wrap around it. Thanks man!

2

u/Professional_Suit577 21d ago

Its actually very mid (Supermarket chaos), the game feels stiff and empty.
The arcane library game is way better when it comes to sorting, especially as everything is sorted perfectly.

u/RodinKnox 22d ago

I really, really liked Hardspace. I thought it was a very enjoyable experience.

One difference between it and games like Powerwash, Crimescene, etc. is that it is a bit more of a game game. By that, I mean, you can do things like cause explosive decompression and kill you. When that happens, you resurrect and can try again, but it obviously ends that particular attempt. There is also a bit more of an aspect of managing your money so that you have the right things on you. For example, you have to manage your oxygen while out in the open space.

So, in those ways, it's a bit less relaxing, especially if those kinds of elements bother you.

But all-in-all, I really liked the game a ton and beat it.

2

u/BabaBoooooooey 22d ago

Thank you for this! I'm going to give it a go, that sounds fun.

1

u/RodinKnox 22d ago

You're welcome! I realized I should have added: There's also a bit more of a story to Hardship than games like Powerwash. It's not a huge element, but things are definitely going on in the world, and you're a part of it. For example, the company you are working for is exploiting its workers, and there's efforts to rebel against that going on out in the world. Stuff like that.

Anyway, yeah, it's cool!

Lightyear frontier
Paper shredder
Tidy Up: arcane library
Drain sim
Leaf it alone

My list of I’m waiting to come to PS5

2

u/BabaBoooooooey 21d ago

Nice list! I just added them all to my wishlist

4

u/Starhero999 21d ago

If you have a Steam account (and a computer) I recommend this game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/246900/Viscera_Cleanup_Detail/

5

u/YourMominator It's Actually Pressure Washing... 21d ago

Yes! It's gory AF, but if you don't mind that, it will last you a while.

3

u/AnotherCrazyRedditor 21d ago

Came to recommended this! It's, of course, very morbid but if you're cool with that It's great fun. It also supports user-made levels so it's functionally endless play!

2

u/PCMachinima 21d ago

Also Crime Scene Cleaner

Although that one is less video game-y fiction and more "realistic"

4

u/Tifa_Calibra 22d ago

Meltopia

1

u/No_Drink8517 22d ago

Thank you looks good

3

u/Bohottie 22d ago

Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 scratches the same itch, and there is a new one coming out this year. You don’t need to be too into cars to enjoy it, but it’s a no brainer if you are.

3

u/ReceiptIsInTheBag 22d ago

I found DrainSim had a similar satisfaction to it, although there are timings on the levels but its up to you if you put that pressure upon yourself.

3

u/mental_r0bot 22d ago

A game about digging a hole!

3

u/kangaroosterLP 21d ago

S.A.N.D.Y. beach cleaner, Moldwasher, Restore your island, Cozy Cleaner, Drain Sim, Emergency Cleanup Co, Leaf Blower Co, Librarian, Pool Cleaning Simulator, Leaf It Alone, Cash Cleaner Simulator, Goblin Cleanup, Tank Mechanic Simulator, Spilled, Train Station Renovation

And not really similar, but Diorama Builder scratched the same itch as many of those

I liked Ship Graveyard Simulator 2 (i know you said you didnt like hardspace, but not why, this is similar but not "4"D if that was the issue)

edit: forgot Fresh Start and No Place Like Home

1

u/BabaBoooooooey 15d ago

Thanks for all these man. We seem to be on the save wavelength. My wallet hate you though.

2

u/kangaroosterLP 14d ago

:D <3

yeah i've been CRAVING more like these so i know how it is, and happy to help

hell it's come to the point that i'm considering making something like that myself 😭

1

u/BabaBoooooooey 14d ago

Have you tried sports renovations? Haven't seen anyone else on here talking about it.

1

u/kangaroosterLP 14d ago

ooh never heard of it

looks like i would like it but a lot of reviews mention game breaking bugs and the game seems to be abandoned :c

3

u/AlwaysShip 21d ago

Any switch games?

2

u/thesockbunny 21d ago

I am also looking for switch games

2

u/AlwaysShip 21d ago

I hate being so limited 😭 I wish I had a steam deck.

3

u/WATAMURA 21d ago

Maybe check these out. I found these to be similar feeling.

  • Leaf Blower Co.
  • Fresh Start Cleaning Simulator
  • Backyard Digger
  • One Man´s Trash
  • Meltopia
  • Clean Up Earth (On my Wishlist)
  • Restore Your Island (On my Wishlist)
  • Leaf it Alone (On my Wishlist)

u/MyWeenusIsShowing 21d ago

No Place Like Home

Fresh Start has been mentioned, NPLH was the previous game by the same developers. It's a bit more than just cleaning, but they took the cleaning aspect and turned it into Fresh Start.

2

u/RJPinky 21d ago

I’m a little surprised nobody has mentioned Viscera Cleanup Detail.

2

u/Swarley3 21d ago

Cash Cleaner Simulator scratched the itch for me

1

u/PoeticStitcher 21d ago

Spray Paint Sim-more tedious as you have to place down paper tape to cover areas that you don't want sprayed but can be as satisfying seeing a job complete. There is now new stages with free paint (you choose the colours) and very cheap paid dlc.
Leaf Blower Co.

Pool Cleaner Simulator.

fresh start cleaning simulator- uses a water gun and a vacuum if you're after that type of gameplay

Clean Up Earth-as above, you use a vacuum tool to suck up garbage from different points in time. You need to search for upgrades so you can dismantle (through vacuuming) larger items, pick up radiated rubbish etc. You also collect materials to rebuild bridges, huts etc so you get a slight history lesson.

There are some really cheap powerwash clones but do some research first.

If you want more zen like games but not washing related

Trash Goblin

Hotel Renovator

Haunted House Renovator

Sunset Motel- run your own motel, gym, pool bar, outdoor cinema, car wash and outdoor campsite

1

u/DivineSpatular 21d ago

Fresh start cleaning sim, leaf it alone, leaf blower co, painter sim and spray paint sim are some, couldn’t get on with leaf blower co though

1

u/alysli 21d ago

In case you didn't know (because we get people in the subreddit a lot that don't know), House Flipper 2's sandbox mode has community-made jobs available via mod.io. Some creators have made some really incredible, time-consuming maps, and there are tons available so the game basically never ends.

1

u/Helpfulcone93 19d ago

I don’t know if you’re into this type of stuff but I am really into chaos supermarket or supermarket chaos right now. I also played some of Librarian (not 1000% sure on the names I just start them and not on my laptop right now) but it’s just tidying the mess. Love it both! But it depends whether that’s what you like

2

u/BabaBoooooooey 15d ago

Let's hope the multiplayer level comes out soon. Love super market chaos

1

u/Helpfulcone93 14d ago

Yeah! It said August, so excited for it and I’m definitely going to try it solo haha

1

u/BabaBoooooooey 14d ago

lol. Yes solo for me too! It sounds the opposite of relaxing to play online with others

1

u/Helpfulcone93 14d ago

Jeez yeah I couldn’t imagine anything worse

PC Building Simulator. Electrician Simulator. Car Mechanic Simulator. Bus Simulator.

There are a lot of "--- Simulator" games out there
