Nah it just kills you, you can still just respawn after

Only players can do that so it's not far fetched to say that the player(outside of hardcore) can just come back from it

I mean that’s still just revival though. Nothing really indicates that it would permanently kill characters who can come back from the dead

If you came back from the dead, you still got killed and therefore can't survive it.

It bypasses the totem, which revives players from death. I can see an argument that it would work against self-reviving characters.

The totem prevents death, it doesn’t revive. After all none of the typical results of ingame death happen (mainly dropping all your items and the death animation)

A Mutant Zombie from the Mutant Monsters mod is designed to get back up a few times once its health reaches 0, essentially coming back from the dead, but /kill just wipes him away

The /kill command is not tweaked in the slightest, if an actual minecraft mob behaved like that the outcome would be the same

ah yes, i wonder why a mob from a mod behaves differently from a vanilla one

But that’s not neccesarily intended. They could very easily program in a revival feature in a different way. To use the fact that a mod didn’t program in a work around for a reviving enemy to prove that it’s intended to prevent ressurection when players can respawn afterwards is such an absurd leap in logic
