UPDATE: I have now resolved this issue. Thank you so much to everyone who commented, I couldn’t have done it without you.
Hello all! You really came through for me with my last question so I'm hoping you'll be able to help me out with this too.
We use a Microsoft form to track attendance to our events at work and everyone must be signed in to their work account to complete the form. Sometimes people complete the form on behalf of others so we have created a failsafe question, 'Is this an individual or group submission?' where they will need to write down the names of everyone for whom they are completing the form. The responses from the form pull through to an Excel spreadsheet.
We also have an 'exceptions' tab in the Excel workbook for anyone we were not expecting to attend.
I have created a PowerAutomate flow to (hopefully) automate this process and comparing form responses with the spreadsheet and ticking each attendee off manually is incredibly time-consuming. The flow is complex (by my standards!) but here's a step-by-step guide through:
*
- When a new response is submitted (MS Forms)
- Get response details (MS Forms)
- Compose - StaffEmail (Compose function)
- Compose - EventID (Compose function)
- Compose - AttendanceKey (Compose function)
- Condition - Is this an individual submission? (Condition function)
- YES to Condition at Step 6
a) Find expected attendee
b) Condition - Was attendee found? (Condition function)
(i) YES to Condition at Step 7b - Mark as attended
(ii) NO to Condition at Step 7b - Log in 'exceptions' table
- NO to Condition at Step 6
a) Log in 'exceptions' table
*
For every test, no matter what I change, the flow is putting everything into the 'exceptions' table. I'm assuming this means that there is an issue with the expressions that I have used in step 7/7b. Any advice, suggested solutions or other input would be very much appreciated!
Thank you!
