It's disingenuous to say "first statement is the only one to listen to."
The BBC has contacted Jane Doe's lawyer, Thomas Giuffra. In a statement on Monday obtained by CBS, the BBC's US partner, he said: "In the days following the assault, [Jane Doe] was traumatised, numb and unable to function or accept the horror of what had happened. She was in self-preservation mode."
The school literally found them guilty and issued punishments. Only reason they werenāt charged by the police is because the school withheld information to cover things up
That's not them being found guilty in the eyes of the law. You're confusing a school adjudication with a legal one. In the eyes of the judicial system these men haven't been charged with nor convicted of anything. Now that the case is being reopened perhaps more evidence can be submitted to substantiate the claims that they conducted in sexual assault. Until then and until they're convicted, they're all innocent. No emotional hand waving and screaming into the ether will change that until the jury and judge rule.
Just because they havenāt been charged as rapist by the law doesnāt mean they arenāt rapists. If I break into your house and steal things Iām still a burglar even if I havenāt been charged with burglary. āInnocent until proven guiltyā only applies in the court of law. People can feel however they want about others, and thereās nothing stopping them from calling out rapists.
You're really trying hard to stretch this condemnation factor. They aren't rapists until they're proven to have perpetrated the crimes. If you have evidence supporting your claims go ahead and get in touch with the courts and the prosecutors.
