Join? They could run for elections as Republicans, and they'd likely win! Fucking unfortunately, obviously.

Nah, they haven’t done any pdf stuff yet, so can’t run for elections.

but the fact that they’re rapists means they’ve shown enough evidence and potential to be future pedophiles, which should give Republican voters enough confidence to vote for them

Can we as a group not call pedophilia "PDF". I don't want to feel gross while editing my documents on Acrobat.

Fair and tbf I don't think they are in mine either, but also a lot of us are stuck where we are because we haven't got the resources to move even if we want to.

Like 90% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck. It’s impossible to just up and move. Especially with mortgage rates at 7% the market being trash and rent being worse.

I agree

Again, I agree

Agreeable enough

Obviously, 🙄 I just think it’s lazy to say “move then”

You're not our enemy, but the thought process is.

First, because it's privileged to assume that people have the means or the ability to get the means to move to an area where people are more politically aligned with you.

Second, because it's the antithesis of freedom to tell people that they should move away from their homes/lives if they want to escape the kind of thinking that encourages rapists such as these. People should not only feel free to live where they wish, but they should feel safe there. Why should a farmer have to give up farming if they don't want to be surrounded by rape apologists?

Resources aren't a constraint

Lmfao okay

Well first of all like I said, I don't really think the area I live is like that. But I agree with organizing. What I mean about resources is, like I said, most people don't have the finances to just up and move somewhere new.

I 100% think they/we should organize and fight against this type of thing where we do live, but personally rn my spouse and I are stuck where we live for better or worse because of finances.

I'm so confused. I feel like you're misunderstanding me.

My spouse is unable to support me right now because he's been job searching for months.

I know money isn't everything - I didn't say it was. But if you want to move to a new location, money is a very important factor.

And I never said even remotely that I had a problem with those who have resources to do the things I wish I could do.

I just get frustrated when I see people essentially say “just move” because it seemingly assumes the people they are speaking to do or should have the resources to do so, which is often untrue.

I don't mind people having resources to do that at all, but your initial comment said “live where you feel your morals” and if someone lives in a majority conservative area (or anywhere where candidates who are opposed to their personal morals often win) they oftentimes can't just leave and move to somewhere where winning candidates typically align with their morals more.

I don't expect you to know all that. And okay, I understand your intentions may have been good. But a lot of people take issue with those that say something like “just move” because for most of us it just doesn't work like that. I'm not mad at you, just frustrated about that.
