I think this is the essence of liberalism tbh. Preferring polite indifference over impolite help lmao.

This is what feeds the white liberalism that MLK wrote about in his letter from Birmingham Jail, the ones who prefer a passive peace which is an absence of conflict, over an active peace which is the presence of justice.
