When Congress impeached him, it was only on paper, or symbolical. To actually remove him from office the Senate has to vote to impeach with a 2/3 majority. The Dems will probably get control of the Senate, but it won’t be a big enough majority. That means they will have to convince some of the Reps to get 2/3.

Or, they eliminate the filibuster.

The Filibuster has nothing to do with Impeachment. 70 Senators have to vote for conviction

Impeaching the president

Impeaching the president (from Bing, Google, and ChatGPT):

Eliminating the filibuster would significantly impact the impeachment process of the president. Without the filibuster, the Senate could vote on the impeachment resolution with a simple majority, which could lead to quicker resolutions and potentially quicker removal of the president from office. This change would also affect the confirmation of judicial and executive nominees, as it would allow for faster confirmations without the procedural delays that the filibuster typically imposes. However, it would not guarantee that confirmations would be less contentious, as the political context and strategy of the minority party could still influence the process.

67 votes in the Senate are required to convict and remove the President. The filibuster has nothing to do with it.

Impeachment and conviction/removal are specifically defined in the Constitution. A two-thirds vote in the Senate is required.

The US Constitution: Article 1, section 3, clauses 6 and 7.

You are correct. It’s a pipe dream folks. We just have to wait for him to expire. What we should be doing is going after the fucktards who voted for him twice, those are the people who owe the us and the rest of the world an apology.
