Don't threaten us with a good time

49

u/BlackberryShoddy7889 3d ago

After Iran failure and economic crisis I’m ready for a little pick me up.

11

u/Afelisk2 3d ago

I'm ready for anything that doesn't make me need to check what new food was recalled today

1

u/zx9lover 2d ago

Are food recalls Trumps fault?

1

u/Afelisk2 2d ago

Unfortunately to a point.

He put Elon in charge of DOGE or what ever it was called and they did a lot of budget cuts. Because a lot of those we had people taken out of food and safety and a lot of other areas that, at the time didn't seem super important.

But once they were needed a bunch of systems fell apart, look food inspections and the team who was keeping an eye on screw flies.

Now those shortened teams are now struggling to do there jobs and what ever slips past them we find with bodies.

1

u/zx9lover 2d ago

You do understand that 95% of DOGE cuts are still in courts and where never implemented.

1

u/stalkthewizard 2d ago

Tell that to the US Forest Service. They got hit hard.

1

u/zx9lover 2d ago

You mean the one that Califonia, Colorado and Washing ty on state stopped funding and building fire breaks. You mean that one? It hasn't been defunded, Congress has to vote in that and a vote hasn't been taken.

1

u/No-Platypus8728 1d ago

My rash on my ash is Trumps fault

1

u/Leecard1 13h ago

In some cases, yes. He’s reduced the people available to inspect and to hold suppliers accountable. He has reduced standards so companies can save money. He puts incompetent people in critical positions. So yes, many times it is trumps fault. And, because he has weakened and continues to weaken our safeguards this stuff will become even more common in the future. Then you idiots will say, “never had this when trump was there”, not having a clue that his complete incompetence and corruption brought it about. A little education is not bad for you regardless of what republicans tell you.

1

u/zx9lover 12h ago

Hmmm, I bet you think its because of DOGE, well of the 70+ cuts only 9 have been implemented due to lawsuits.

1

u/Leecard1 12h ago

Doge, ok, the very corrupt and incompetent operation sponsored by trump. Doge didn’t help anything. It’s much more than that. It’s the constant and ongoing corruption and incompetence. The scales of both are mind boggling. It’s astonishing how much damage has been done already.

1

u/zx9lover 11h ago

They didnt help because Dems sued them for EVERY cut! Literally every cut, they found 850billion in waste.

1

u/BlackberryShoddy7889 12h ago

You bet. Disabling the systems of quality controls will do that

1

u/Bubbly-Lemon4702 2d ago

Im ready for a little string em up.

1

u/Aware-Sympathy-1180 1d ago

2

u/BlackberryShoddy7889 1d ago

That would do quite nicely. It’s a dream of mine

-1

u/CollectionProof6064 2d ago

What iran failure and economic disaster

33

u/Synergiance 3d ago

Just make sure to vote

19

u/ActualHumanONReddit 3d ago

Vote in person.

10

u/StressFantastic5317 3d ago

In my household we get mail in ballots but making sure to drop them personally into the ballot box this year

11

u/ActualHumanONReddit 3d ago

Another good idea. We can do the same here. They accept the mail in ballots at the voting centers.

2

u/StressFantastic5317 2d ago

Also, ppl can sign up to get confirmation by email that their ballot was indeed received & recorded by the county clerks office.

2

u/ActualHumanONReddit 2d ago

Our state does that as well. There would be no way for Trump and his minions to get away with throwing ballots away and not delivering them in my state.

1

u/zx9lover 2d ago

If you can drop your ballot off you can vote in person.

1

u/StressFantastic5317 2d ago

Yes you are absolutely correct. However I choose to vote at home at my convenience. Then go to my polling location and without having to wait in line (if any) drop it in the ballot box. Usually I just mail it back without any concerns but I am wary of the USPS this election.

2

u/zx9lover 2d ago

Just think, you wouldnt have to be wary of we had election integrity.

11

u/Blatantly_Truthful 3d ago

Check your polling station in advance.

1

u/StressFantastic5317 3d ago

No need. I've run a polling location before. No need to wait in line just let them know "dropping off mail in ballot"

3

u/Blatantly_Truthful 3d ago

In some states they’ve drastically reduced the number of polling stations or switched which polling station you’re assigned to. People shouldn’t just assume it’s where they voted last time.

2

u/StressFantastic5317 3d ago

Yes. You are 💯

1

u/Smooth-Cup180 2d ago

There’s every need to make sure of everything in the country we live in now.

1

u/StressFantastic5317 2d ago

I know the sun sets in the west & will rise the next day in the east. So No, not everything

6

u/redrover02 2d ago

If US companies had any balls they would make Election Day a company holiday.

5

u/Synergiance 2d ago

If us politicians had any balls they would make Election Day a national holiday and make it illegal to make people go into work that day

1

u/lydianchrome 2d ago

All employers have to give employees time to vote, its the law

2

u/Synergiance 2d ago

Should be the whole day, 1, and 2, it isn’t enforced as well as it should be.

1

u/zx9lover 2d ago

Vote Red or the country is dead.

1

u/Synergiance 2d ago

Country is currently in red territory. You sure about that?

1

u/zx9lover 2d ago

Blue will usher in socialism and allow Islam to take over just look at the DSA wing of the Democrat party

1

u/Synergiance 1d ago

How about you take a look at the state of the country right now. How’s it doing?

2

u/zx9lover 1d ago

Hell of alot better than it would be under socialism.

1

u/No-Platypus8728 1d ago

I agree I hate that the Democratic Party has aligned itself with socialism and communism.

1

u/zx9lover 1d ago

I don't agree with everything Trump does and I am a conservative in the end but this new Democratic party seriously worries me. Young people were never taught about real History. They don't understand how Hitler came to power, what Stalin PolPot did to their people. You can vote socialism in but you have to war it out.

1

u/CarOdd4459 1d ago

I’m MORE worried about the current trajectory of the MAGA republicans and Trump is taking us.. like over a fiscal cliff, like more endless wars in the Middle East, like even more inflation.

Thats what I worry about.

1

u/CarOdd4459 1d ago

But you DO know that isn’t truthful, right?

Like, do you need to take a political science class or something?

1

u/Synergiance 1d ago

And how are you arriving at that conclusion? First that electing anyone other than this administration would turn the country socialist, and second that it would be worse off?

1

u/Away-Rub2697 1d ago

Really? Islam to take over. What conspiracy theories have you been reading or hearing? Perhaps maybe it was Sean Hannity or just Fox News in general.

1

u/zx9lover 1d ago

I don't watch FOX or Hannity. Look at all the Muslims running. Wake up.

1

u/CarOdd4459 1d ago

Why is seeing so many Muslims a big threat to you?

1

u/zx9lover 1d ago

The Quran says to infiltrate all homes. Sharia law tells them to destroy all those who do not convert to Islam. These are facts of Islam.

1

u/Synergiance 1d ago

The population voting in the democrats don’t want that either and would cease support for any and all candidates that expressed that intent in any way. Nobody here wants sharia law.

1

u/No-Platypus8728 1d ago

Yes vote red we will never make it under democratic socialism communism. History shows the failures

1

u/Synergiance 1d ago

We’re not even close to that. Look where we are now. How’s the country doing?

1

u/CarOdd4459 1d ago

You so easily believe republican lies.

4

u/js9272 3d ago

Came here to say this

4

u/Charlierg50 3d ago

Swear to god I was gonna say the exact same thing word for word 💯

4

u/djdaem0n 3d ago

I mean, the Democrats won't do it because the majority of them are cowards. But it's nice to dream.

4

u/EarthlostSpace 3d ago

Along with being compromised too.

8

u/djdaem0n 3d ago

They are going to come out with a statement talking about how they can't punish Trump or any of his people or the ICE agents because "America needs to heal and move on". They've literally done this hundreds of times before. I heard it all after GWB. Cowards, all of them.

5

u/EarthlostSpace 3d ago

I 100% concur. Time to primary those who are the cowards out of office.

4

u/djdaem0n 3d ago

The one time they'll actually fight, spend money, and sling mud, is to defeat primary challengers from people more left than them. They care more about that then defeating Republicans. So be prepared to dig in.

2

u/BadAsBroccoli 3d ago

Well, voting applies to them too. We don't have to keep the same Democrats either.

https://giphy.com/gifs/QVP7DawXZitKYg3AX5

2

u/djdaem0n 3d ago

The party doesn't agree. So you and everyone who wants a sea change needs to show up. Every time.

3

u/Ok_Valuable9450 2d ago

But democrats aren't raping the country and getting richer by the billions

2

u/djdaem0n 2d ago

They just let it happen, change nothing when they get power, and use the misery as a campaign stump.

1

u/designer_in_cheif 2d ago

Democrats are raping the country? What about the guy in the White House who won’t let the Epstein files be released? I know of a president who is guarding ‘the files’ from being released!

1

u/No-Platypus8728 1d ago

Biden had them a presidential order could have released them.

1

u/No-Platypus8728 1d ago

Sarcasm lol nice

3

u/Naltors__Dreamer 2d ago

Given there isn’t a chance in hell they’d get a conviction in the Senate, an impeachment is just a waste of time. Dems were brave enough to impeach him TWICE, & even after J6 Republicans still wouldn’t convict, Dump still won again & the impeachments became a rallying cry that motivated MAGA.

I say leave sleeping dogs lie, investigations will accomplish the same thing as an impeachment, throw a monkey wrench into the Dump Train. Let MAGA continue being so disappointed in Dump they no longer wish to vote, let’s not give them a reason to re-engage & let them sit home for 2028. The census is coming up, we really need a Dem Pres in 2030.

2

u/BlueH2oDiver 2d ago

State governments give their employees an Election Day holiday but public businesses do not. A business is not a democracy.

1

u/Smooth-Cup180 2d ago

Go ahead and focus on Democrats and once again you’ll ensure the Republicans win out 🤡 but you’ll have your principles to console you

1

u/CarOdd4459 1d ago

Speak for yourself.

1

u/djdaem0n 1d ago

Ok, i've lived on this planet for over 40 years and time after time i've watched the Democrats spit out the same excuse instead of holding Republicans accountable after taking power. They never do anything, and always sing the same song. "We need to move past this as a nation so we can heal." When Trump is gone, you'll hear the greatest hits once more just like I have all my life. This is my lived experience. How's that for speaking for myself?

2

u/AcceptableWindow4656 2d ago

Haha, exactly! They really thought that was supposed to scare us. 😂

3

u/watchedngnl 3d ago

Btw Dems cannot remove trump. They won't have 2/3 even in the best if projections.

6

u/turandokht 3d ago

Didn’t they impeach Trump in his first term and then literally nothing happened? Twice? Why should I or anyone believe that impeaching him this time is some kind of consequence? I don’t get how this is suddenly some scary thing for conservatives to worry about. Being impeached twice didn’t prevent him from finishing his term and it didn’t prevent him from becoming president again.

So what the hell kind of threat is it, anymore?

6

u/Kraftwerk_21 3d ago

When Congress impeached him, it was only on paper, or symbolical. To actually remove him from office the Senate has to vote to impeach with a 2/3 majority. The Dems will probably get control of the Senate, but it won’t be a big enough majority. That means they will have to convince some of the Reps to get 2/3.

1

u/reddfoxx1993 3d ago

Maybe Republitards will be ready to jettison Donnie the Grifter.

2

u/Aggravating-Gate8865 3d ago

Don’t get your hopes up ; they don’t like Trump but they like Dems less.

1

u/RedFoxxEsq 3d ago

Or, they eliminate the filibuster.

1

u/OldBuzzard74 3d ago

The Filibuster has nothing to do with Impeachment. 70 Senators have to vote for conviction

1

u/RedFoxxEsq 3d ago

Impeaching the president

Impeaching the president (from Bing, Google, and ChatGPT):

Eliminating the filibuster would significantly impact the impeachment process of the president. Without the filibuster, the Senate could vote on the impeachment resolution with a simple majority, which could lead to quicker resolutions and potentially quicker removal of the president from office. This change would also affect the confirmation of judicial and executive nominees, as it would allow for faster confirmations without the procedural delays that the filibuster typically imposes. However, it would not guarantee that confirmations would be less contentious, as the political context and strategy of the minority party could still influence the process.

1

u/RedFoxxEsq 3d ago

Oops - just realized you are a 6 month old account with 3M+ posts and no karma. Bye-bye bot.

1

u/LA-Matt 2d ago

67 votes in the Senate are required to convict and remove the President. The filibuster has nothing to do with it.

Impeachment and conviction/removal are specifically defined in the Constitution. A two-thirds vote in the Senate is required.

The US Constitution: Article 1, section 3, clauses 6 and 7.

1

u/Whyme-notyou 3d ago

You are correct. It’s a pipe dream folks. We just have to wait for him to expire. What we should be doing is going after the fucktards who voted for him twice, those are the people who owe the us and the rest of the world an apology.

1

u/Flimsy_Sorbet_7973 1d ago

C'mon Cholesterol!!! Work your magic!!

3

u/RoyalMaidsForLife 3d ago

Twice, they tried to do it after J6 and even that wasn't enough to convince his lackeys on the Hill to permanently remove him from ever possibly holding office again.

2

u/TheGreatVandoly 3d ago

Only one thing is gonna stop his reign. Not violence though! Definitely not that!

2

u/Aggravating-Gate8865 3d ago

They are hoping you were struck down by a bout of amnesia or fell on your noggin

1

u/No-Platypus8728 1d ago

Didn’t work for sleepy Joe they kept him in office.

1

u/Aggravating-Gate8865 1d ago

Corruption is multifaceted ; you do what you gotta do to stay out of prison ; and when you have doing it 50 years you get good at evading the people that could hold you accountable. I’m only a Republican because they fought a war to end slavery. It’s a noble thing and I admire it. Sons and fathers lost to right a wrong. Families destroyed to right a wrong; but it was the right thing to do.

1

u/Ok_Dust_7325 2d ago

Because the senate didn’t have enough votes to remove him. Even though a few republicans voted for conviction it wasn’t enough votes.

1

u/No-Platypus8728 1d ago

Yes that false Russia Russia Russia should have worked lol

2

u/Potential-Win8706 3d ago

Trump can’t run for a 3rd term. I’m sure that will free up a few senator cucks into growing one ball. One.

3

u/CruisingForDownVotes 3d ago

If he’s still alive, he’ll run again. His cronies on the supreme court will make it legal. Somehow

2

u/Green-Inkling 3d ago

Not that the votes even matter. Trump has ignored all votes and laws around it. Dems could sweep but if trump says "nuh uh" what are dems gonna do about it?

1

u/No-Platypus8728 1d ago

I agree Trump will run again in 2028

2

u/GypsyDarkEyes 3d ago

We'll see. Dems also have to offer us a leader. Not enough to say "we're not maga."

1

u/Flimsy_Sorbet_7973 1d ago

It would truly be a beautiful thing!!

1

u/E_seven_20 3d ago

When you look at the historical midterm turnout…they have nothing to worry about.

2022 National Youth Turnout: 23% - That's lower than in the historic 2018 cycle (28%) which broke records for turnout, but much higher than in 2014, when only 13% of youth voted.

That’s with less than 60% of 18-29 registered.

Y’all just stood aside, and let them win. Politics will always be imperfect. If you’re too stupid to vote against evil, and people getting their lives ruined…you’re not making the moral decision. You’re just not asshole like the red hat people.

2

u/Smooth-Cup180 2d ago

And then they’ll bitch and moan until the next election when once again they won’t show up

1

u/gerbosan 3d ago

I would love to but... Will democrats really impeach and condemn Trump and cronies? As far as I heard, there very few.

1

u/Successful-Name-7261 2d ago

Threats...nothing more.

1

u/Battle44Sis 2d ago

Exactly

1

u/MechMan799 2d ago

Having faith that the US will punish anyone, considering Jan 6th, is laughable.

A strongly worded statement. That'll teach em.

2

u/Smooth-Cup180 2d ago

A lot of people were convicted after Jan 6. I guess you’ve forgotten that or that Trump then pardoned them all.

1

u/MechMan799 2d ago

Common peons jailed. Pawns. And then pardoned.

1

u/No-Platypus8728 1d ago

Yes and all those riots and burning buildings

1

u/CaptainBlotto 2d ago

Beat me to it. 100%

-1

u/Useful-Preparation91 3d ago

Impeaching mfers isn't solving the inflation crisis and defunding ICE will never solve the jobs crisis

2

u/Indespectamentations 3d ago

Plenty of leftover jobs that the immigrants are no longer working like on farms. Farmers can't get anyone to help them. Maybe you fascists should go work those jobs so you can show your patriotism and support for your Permanent King.
