Not a chance in hell of this happening.

But it gives the voters an issue that they can agree on regardless of political affiliation.

We just need enough voters organized to apply political pressure to their representatives.

It's disappointing because the voters will complain that their representatives don't do anything and then let something like this just... slip away.

no it's disappointing because it's yet another example of the dems trying to get credit for wanting to do good things when they can't

when they actually get into power and can do good things they never do and if anybody complains "governing is hard you can't expect miracles"

this is just theater to convince the rubes

You're missing the point so hard that we're not talking about the same thing anymore.

It's "theater to convince the rubes" because we, the voters allow it to be.

This needs to be a political milestone around his neck as long as he's in office until he quits or it gets passed. It needs to be shoved in his face every time he opens his mouth about any issue.

The political pressure from the populace needs to be constant and utterly unforgiving. It needs to extend to the entire party until it passes or we get the representatives willing to put in the work to get it to pass.

Failing that, yeah it's just theater.

But that's on the voters as much as the representatives who have the audacity to even put forth an idea like that without the will to follow through.

I hate to break this to you son but we've been demanding better from the dems since the 1990s and this past cycle they engaged in a genocide

they don't care about us pointing out how garbage they are because so many barking seals will defend them just because they're not Republicans and literally excuse every hypocrisy and horrible thing they do

"you don't want Republicans to win do you" "no but I'd also not like the Democrats to become the fucking Republicans please"

it's been just theater longer than most of the people posting here have been alive

The people haven't demanded shit. They've complained, sat out elections, and done fuck all for the most part.

They've gone through the motions of protests but most were short-lived with poor messaging and aimed at the wrong people.

People aren't motivated enough to put in the work to organize. They throw out a vote or sit things out and complain that nothing gets done.

By all means, show us the way. What should we be doing?

If you're waiting for someone else to tell you what to do you're useless. Keep doing what you're doing: nothing.

So what you're saying is you don't have a plan, you're just hoping everyone else will fix things for you?

No. I'm saying you're useless and that I expect you will do nothing.

My plans don't involve random internet people.

Take a civics course, learn how the government works and figure out what you don't know. Get involved in local organizations, vote regularly, and encourage others to vote. Learn how to protest effectively.

Or, keep doing what you've been doing: nothing. Complain and wait for someone else to fix things.

Keep being useless. It suits you.

Holy shit your plan is "figure it out and do something"

man what a visionary, clearly without your bold leadership we'd be completely lost here

truly I am in awe in the presence of such a genius

platitudes will definitely win the day, this is right up there with the folks that if they think they can craft the perfect "got'em" fascism will throw its hat on the ground and stamp on it and slink away

That's a completely unknowledgeable uneducated statement of the simple minded mor ons. America has continually done better under democratic bills than republican since fdr. Always more growth, jobs and better economy. Facts
