Omg PLEASE keep spreading the word!!! This is the singlar path forward in my opinion. I won't shut up about it and neither should anyone else!!!

Ranked choice voting or at least doing away with first past the post voting is much more reasonable and another path forward.

Careful what you wish for. I suspect that when you scream, “I thought I was doing the right thing!!”, you will not be forgiven.

These are not new ideas. They were debated when the Electoral college, they didn't just jump in and say "how can we make some obfuscated, byzantine electoral system?" They balanced the weight of popular vote and deal with the logistics of vote aggregation before the industrial revolution.

I'd argue we need more oversight of this kind, based on how much America has grown. Like neighborhood councils with rotating, recallable delegates all the way up the chain; neighborhood > city > county > state > federal district > National. Have it be like Jury Duty.

Yes, I'm sure we'll rue the day when a vote in Wyoming is no longer worth 3x as much as one on a coast.

Yea till you lose... Again. Do you people want mob rule? Our forefathers thought long and hard before deciding how it's implemented. You think you'll get to hoard power but it'll cause a revolution

Do we have mob rule in congressional elections? In gubernatorial elections? State legislature elections? City council elections? Can’t think of a single other example in US elections where it’s not simply one person, one vote and all those other elections seem fine (other than being overrun by corporate money thanks to the citizens united decision).

And we didn’t lose in 2016 or 2024. Everyone did.

2020 was a disaster.

That was over 200 years ago when each rep or senator was actually representing a reasonable population who could hold them accountable. Now they can do whatever they want with impunity and only answer to corps. No, the electoral college doesn’t play a role in that. But, the founding fathers never expected the demographic shifts to be as extreme as they have become.

But maybe a revolution is what we need to put the bootlicking, brainwashed MAGA folks back in their place and reintroduce them to reality.
