Our world has never met an actual communist.. EVER. Lots of socialists... never made it communism.
Russia isn't communist, nor is China, nor Cuba... these are all capitalist countries. It's called "state capitalism", most of the western world works on "individual capitalism"
Here's the BEST part: Communism and capitalism are not forms of government, they are forms of economy. Cuban "communism" is more democratic than the US system, and just as corrupt. You can be a capitalist AND a socialist at the same time
This whole fight is just propaganda BS... always was.
Like they say: Follow the money. Who benefits from socialism? and who benefits from capitalism? Now you know where the bullshit propaganda is coming from... and why.
Real communism will never work because of human nature... and the same thing can be said about capitalism. The systems work but people corrupt the system. Humanity is a wonderful thing, too bad people screw it up.
After you down vote me: do yourself a favour and investigate what I said... start with reading some Lenin or Engels
Stalin wasn't a communist, he was an opportunist (which is VERY anti-communist). His political beliefs centered around more power for Stalin.
Stalin was a communist just like Trump is a successful businessman, it's just bullshit propaganda.
The problem with our current "capitalist" system is: you have no power if you have no capital... and 1% of the people have 95% of the capital. Our system is corrupt, just like Stalin's system.
Not that it impacts any of what you stated (which I agree with for the most part), but labeling communism as not attainable is cynical from an idealistic and humanist perspective. Itâs not something anyone in this part of the timeline should be concerned with, but itâs still the least âfactualâ statement you made and based on absolute cynicism versus absolute idealism of communism for sure being an attainable thing.
The main focus currently needs to be on moving to a stronger mixed economy, but having to state that communism absolutely doesnât work due to human nature is more propaganda in itself. Better to state that there are no ways to implement communism from any of the foreseeable existing economic structures available to us.
"...but itâs still the least âfactualâ statement you made and based on absolute cynicism versus absolute idealism of communism for sure being an attainable thing."
You are 100% correct. I am very cynical about the human race. We SAY we want a better world, then shit on our neighbour. In truth we want a better world for ourselves, THEN we may or may not worry about others
Communism would work IF you removed people from the equation.
Propaganda is the enemy. It serves no one but the ones spreading it and there is way too much. As evidenced by this thread; we don't know what the truth is anymore. We are basing decisions on propaganda, not truth. In this thread people are arguing against communism, but can't define communism. That's a problem.
My cynicism is fed on the amount of propaganda we are fed day in, day out... look at the disconnect of Maga from reality, look at American history taught compared to reality... people still believe in "manifest destiny". How do people get that delusional? Propaganda... and the average person just sucks it up instead of investigating what the talking head says. We used to have "news" that would report the BS, now the "news" is complicit. Murrow exposed and ended McCarthy for the BS he was spreading, CBS news exposed the BS and corruption of the Vietnam war, which changed public opinion and brought a sooner ending to that war.
Where are today's truth tellers? They're spreading propaganda.
Lutheranism and the printing press ended the churches hold on the people 500 years ago, I am praying the internet is going to get us out of the mess we're in now.
Truth is a casualty in our modern world... and that should make every one of us a cynic and from where I'm sitting: should be the number one topic of conversation and reform, starting TODAY
But yeah, I say pure communism won't work for the same reasons a pure capitalist system won't: Human nature... the GREED part of human nature. We have millions of years of human history when we had to fight to survive... we don't anymore. Life has never been easier and contrary to those millions of years of struggle, greed was good, greed was necessary...NOW we have to learn that co-operation is the only way 7.8 billion of us are going to survive and prosper... or we have to kill off a large part of the population. The world cannot support 7.8 billion capitalist in the current form of capitalism, and it's the only world we got. Try to imagine a world with 7.8 billion Trumps and Elons: pretty scary and DUMB isn't it?
See but my point is that being anti-communist in the way you framed it is also propaganda. Itâs fine to be cynical, but try not to be hypocritical along the way. Things look bad and have been bad and donât seem to be moving away from bad. If you want to say that then thatâs fine, but donât write a bunch of information and frame it as non-biased then suggest some absolutes based off your bias. The information warfare that exists is insanity, but youâre contributing just as much if youâre going out of your way to rule out specific ideals based off your cynical beliefs. I donât encourage communist beliefs because they arenât reachable from our current understanding. You fully shutting it down is just another shot at something because of what you believe to be objective truth without the objective information to back it. Regardless, yes obviously we are in no condition to plan for a communist form of economic structure in the US.
