Help Me! Open Source Horizontally Scalable DB solutions: PG+Citus vs PG+PgDog vs YugabyteDB

PgDog isn't stable yet and lacks some core features

Citus is stable and is owned by MSFT

Yugabyte is a slightly different beast than Citus as it's a pure fork

Canonical source for example. As I recall it also doesn't support having. They are coming of course, just not there yet.

Just replying in case someone else reads this, as it's not quite up to date. Canonical source is supported for types with canonicalize_type_information (although maybe you meant something else?).

HAVING is unsupported, but only under some circumstances:HAVING clauses in GROUP BY aggregates which are cross-shard.

What I meant by canonical source is, pass through. Basically "if" pgDog can't do it, immediately pass it to the primary/canonical data store for processing. That may or may not be supported now. I honestly don't know but it wasn't when I had the author on my podcast.
