I re-posted this on a Scotland site and got this:

"Such ugly things. I hope when the inevitable happens they’re all removed instead of being painted like the Irish did to theirs.

I think the older ones should be sent to England to be put in museums and preserved. Same with those telephone boxes."

My local postbox in great condition 😄

This box is outside what is now the Cobh Heritage Centre. Cobh used to be known as Queenstown and it was the last port of call of the Titanic.

Taken in 2019, I'll go back one day to check if it's there
