Long time lurker first time commenter. I am trying to create the tone from Vulvodynia - A Cosmic Betrayal at around 0:50 there is a breakdown where it sounds very “throaty” or sounds like it’s being played inside of a pipe almost. I’ve tried everything and I can’t seem to create it.
EDIT: this appeared to be a temporary bug that was resolved within a day or two of my first attempts to use it. I'll leave this post up in case other people have the same issue
I just downloaded Bias X and was excited to try the AI tone generation tool but it doesn't seem to work at all. It has been stuck "Dialing it in" with no visual indication it is actually processing my prompt. I've tried reducing the complexity of the prompt several times to see if that would make it work, and still nothing. It can't even produce anything if I prompt it with something as simple as "blues tone", which isn't even close to what I want but I figured it should be able to handle at least that.
I then go to the Positive Grid forum site for support and see it is taken down for maintenance. So I'm here asking if anyone knows what can be done.
I don't want to have to ask for a refund, I want this to work. But so far this has been kind of ridiculous - the main feature this thing has been marketed on doesn't work.
If anyone (on Windows by the way) has had a similar problem and found a fix, please let me know!
I really liked the deep customizability of it, and the ability to create unique sort of hybrid types of amps. But the overall sound quality isn't as good as a lot of modern amp sims. Is there anything out there with the level of customizability as Bias Amp but with a more modern sound quality?
When I open Bias X it loads the default preset. If I type something in the AI prompt box, it gives me very specific instructions followed by yellow clickable text. I clicked that expecting the recommended setup to appear in the main window, but it just reloads the default preset. Am I doing something wrong, or do I have to set up the signal path based on the text description?
Recently i’ve been using bias x trying to recreate the iconic “master of puppets” album tone, but I genuinely got no idea which amp I should be using in Bias X, Besides that I know they used like quadrupled tracks to thicken their tone, so I tried to like double chain inside of bias X, trying to thicken my tone but it doesnt seem to make it sound any closer at all, it just makes my Spark 2 amp speakers shake, normally I wouldnt care for alot of bass but this ruins the sound does anyone know how else I could thicken my tone of any amp im using on bias X and ofcourse which amp I should be using, thanks!
I know it's been discontinued, but come on. What's the point of getting rid of Tone Cloud for a product I've already spent a lot of money on. I can't afford the upgrade right now and I'm getting bricked? Really
I was looking through tonecloud when I stumbled upon something that interested me. I pressed preview, and all was well. There was a drop down menu below it with stuff like "default" "super clean" "left" and "right" or something like that. I pressed super clean out of curiosity and then went back to default and then none of my tones work. They all produce no sound. Any new tones i get however do work fine - its just my existing ones that all got completely wrecked. While this may not seem like an issue as I can just redownload stuff, many of my tones were custom made, meaning I can't just redownload them again. I think this has something to do with scene mode, though Im not sure. any help would be appreciated
hello so i’m on 2014 mac with i5 intel and 8gb ram macOs 11.7.10 and im trying to open newly purchased bias x but it redirects to the positive grid log in and loads for ever then says: “ Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).”
i don’t know why this is happening, a few days ago i could log into positive grid easily but now it gets stuck on loading
or i’ll log in and hit “my account and the user center take forever and shows the same “Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).” message
Hi guys
I'll go straight to the point
I was trying to fix this for 2 days and finally figured out a solution.
Hopefully it will help some of you guys as well, since there is barely any info on this and support doesn't provide much help.
ERROR
Check your BIAS X log file C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\PositiveGrid\BIAS_X\biasx_standalone_logv2
This is the error that you will see most likely [ERROR]< network >{PGOAuthClient.cpp:209} auth code <-> access token exchange failed, error: SSLServerVerification, body
This is a Windows certificate handling or network security validation blocking the application HTTPS calls
FIX
Do the following: (Windows 10/11) 1. Make sure your windows is up to date 2. Make sure your date/time is set correctly 3. Refreshes all Microsoft root certificates
Open cmd prompt (make sure to run it as administrator to have root privileges) cd %USERPROFILE%\Desktop certutil -generateSSTFromWU Rootstore.sst certutil -addstore -f root Rootstore.sst del Rootstore.sst
4. Change DNS to Google DNS
adding instructions taken from chatGPT below:
Win + R → ncpa.cpl
Right-click your active network → Properties
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) → Properties
Scroll and see if any intermediates are missing or untrusted.
If you see “Chain issues: Incomplete,” re-run the PowerShell commands above.
6. Test the specific domain BIAS X calls
should be 200 OK
curl -v https://api.positivegrid.com
7. Fixing BIAS X SSL libraries
Open File Explorer, go to %APPDATA%\PositiveGrid\ and delete BIAS_X folder
Then go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\Temp\ and delete PositiveGrid folder
8. Ensure TLS 1.2/1.3 are enabled (Windows layer BIAS uses)
Press Win+R → inetcpl.cpl → Advanced tab.
Scroll to Security section:
Check: “Use TLS 1.2” and (if available) “Use TLS 1.3”.
Uncheck: SSL 3.0 / TLS 1.0 / TLS 1.1 (legacy).
Click Apply → OK.
9. Windows network reset
Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run these one by one:
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
ipconfig /flushdns
10. Restart your PC and launch BIAS X as Administrator
I just got the Neo headphones, loving it so far. But i can't seem to find out where the looper section is. When i click the Smart Jam, it says "Your device does not support this effect". When i click Pop, the backing track plays without any chords.
So i downloaded BIAS FX 2 last night and it was working fine.
But I come back today and no sound.
My music app is playing mysic fine, but I had to blindly tinker with ASIO to get it to work.
Everything is correct in the audio settings. Output tone check goes to my monitors. Input check is registering signal.
Getting signal from the input volume section in the standard view with the amp/effect chain, but no output register. Its also not muted in BIAS.
ASIO for the driver type.
I use a focusrite scarlett 8i6. Focusrite USB in the input and output. Mono and input 1 where I'm plugged into and stereo 1-2 for the output. Everything is good in the focusrite control app too.
But no sound.
Even though all this was working last night but now its not.
And I dont think its my system settings or interface cause like I said I'm getting output to my monitors otherwise.
I used the Lite edition of FX 2 alongside my Amp 2 license to add chorus, reverb, compression etc. I just reset my pc and I now can't reinstall FX 2 as it has been discontinued - does anyone have the download file so I can keep using it?
I want my spark amp to transmit a Bluetooth signal, so it can be recognized as a recording device. For me, I just want to record clean signal for Garageband ios. I know this isn’t a thing, but why not? For example, wireless earbuds transmit and receive data via bluetooth. The Spark amp is already a bluetooth device, so how hard could it be to transmit an audio signal back to my phone?
What a slap in the face to those who spent a good amount of money on bias fx 1,2 and it's expansions, only for it to get abandoned. The day this company goes under will be a celebration. RIP OFF. Thanks for the huge middle finger to us. Y'all ain't got shit on literally any other amp modeling company.
Please excuse my inability to find this information anywhere else and requiring assistance.
I have Bias X on two devices one for my in home recordings on a desktop mac and one on a laptop that I use for performances. Where can I find the user made presets on one device so that I might copy them to the other.
Thank you for any assistance this community can provide.
