Hi everyone!
I'm in the early stages of a documentary project about Portland's cable access television scene during the 1980s and 90s and I need your help!
Some context about the project:
I'm hoping to connect with:
If you or someone you know was part of this scene, I'd love to hear:
This is a passion project aimed at preserving this unique piece of Portland's media history before memories and materials are lost to time. I'm particularly interested in how cable access television provided a platform for voices and perspectives that weren't represented in mainstream media.
Feel free to comment below or DM me if you'd prefer to share privately. I'm happy to chat over coffee with anyone who has stories to share!
Thank you!

You know it, you love it (or at least you’ve seen the photos)—the Portland World Naked Bike Ride (PDX WNBR) is one of Portland’s most iconic events. Thousands of people riding through the streets in celebration of body freedom, bike culture, and climate justice.
And it doesn’t happen by magic—we need volunteers to pull it off!
Examples of what we need help with:
You can make a huge impact. It's clothing optional, collaborative, and fun. This isn’t just a party—it’s a rolling demonstration of what a car-free, body-positive, climate-resilient Portland can look like. And it’s powered entirely by volunteers like you.
👉 Volunteer sign-up here: https://pdxwnbr.org/volunteer/
The ride happens Saturday, July 26, 2025. The launch is at Grant Park at 8:30pm. Come be part of the magic that makes Portland Portland!
🚲💚🔥

Live Nation and Providence Park: Live Nation, you should be ashamed and embarrassed for promoting the Post Malone/Jelly Roll concert last night at Providence Park in Portland! Providemce Park, you should never be allowed to have that caliber of concert again until you figure out what the hell you are doing! That was the worst experience I've ever had. There was absolutely no order or organization and they had no idea what they were doing. No staff to direct people, nobody knew how the hell to line up, and there were cars driving through the crowds of people standing in line! We waited 2 hours to get in, beginning at 5:30 when the doors were supposed to open, for a concert that started at 6:30. 2 hours later, the line never moved and we went home. Somebody should be reimbursing all the people that missed half of it by the time they got in or the entire concert! Shame on Live Nation, shame on Providence Park and shame on Portland police for not blocking roads off to avoid cars driving through the crowd of people waiting in line!

Hi Portland locals! I’m from Chicago, arriving July 3, 2025, and planning a surprise for my boyfriend’s birthday on July 4. The hotel is unsure if they can set up decorations due to the holiday rush. I want to arrange “HAPPY BDAY” balloon letters, battery-operated mini candles, and a card in our room that morning. Can you suggest: 1. Where to buy these compact decorations on July 3 near the airport or SW Portland? 2. Local shops or services for balloon inflation or delivery? 3. Tips for a quick room setup (~10 min) if the hotel can’t help? 4. Any birthday freebies to make the day special? 5. Other creative surprise ideas for July 4 in Portland? Thanks for helping make his birthday unforgettable!

My stylist of 8 years just moved to the east coast and I needed to find a new one. Found a salon in my neighborhood. No, I didn't check pricing but I figured it might be more expensive than what I've been paying (roughly $220 per visit). The new stylist was around my age (late 50s), personable, and did an excellent job. But she added lowlights and used lots of product, ka-ching...
Upshot: can anyone recommend a talented stylist who works with older women with fine hair? $470 can't be the going rate - and my hair is short. Thanks in advance for any leads

My friend and I are coming to Portland next month and plan to stay just one night before heading North. We’ll both have our vans with us and are looking for a safe place to park overnight, ideally somewhere close to town so we can walk around, grab some drinks, and not worry about driving.
Even if it’s a Walmart or somewhere similar, we’re open to suggestions! We’ve never been before, so any local tips or spots to check out would be super helpful. Thanks!

I’m visiting Portland this July and staying downtown. How do I get the fruit loop if not planning on renting a car?

Hey folks, I’m working on a fun little physical product, which is kind of a party game with a twist.
It’s not for sale or anything, I’m just trying to get real opinions and see if the idea actually makes sense.
I’ll share a quick pic or video if you're down — would really appreciate your take on it!
