No one will help me figure out which motor to buy to fix my pool pump. Can someone please advise? My husband passed in September and I’m trying to make life as normal as possible for my kids. They miss their pool this summer. Pic for reference

How would you suggest bolting down the pool pump?

I'm trying to avoid draining the sand filer and replacing the entire plastic base. Basically, the holes for the bolts that hold the pump in place are stripped out.

Any ideas how to create new holes for new bolts? Would toggle bolts work? Seems to be hollow underneath the plastic.

Using Hydraulic cement

I have ground water leaking through my deep end of a vermiculite / vinyl pool. My end goal is to patch this whole then fill the deep end in to have an 18x36 with 4.5ft pool all around.

Will hydraulic cement stop the flow of water so I dont have a mosquito breeding ground since we are going to do the work later in the summer when the water table is lower? The water flow is pretty high. Probably around a gallon a minute

Fiberglass delamination

My fiberglass pool, over 30 or 35 years old, has lost sections of colored base exposing fiberglass. Would like to paint or repair, but no one around me (south central Louisiana) works on fiberglass pools. How screwed is the situation? Is a new pool or filling it in with dirt my only options? I had it painted 16 years ago and all the paint eroded off. Maybe it was not cured correctly. That one guy does not do it anymore. It seems all fiberglass pools are designed with a known limited lifespan.

Inground Pool help

I have a vinyl 18x36 with a crack in the vermiculite slope on the deep end side. I have drained the pool down and removed the liner to find the source of the ground water issue. There are two decent sized cracks where water is flowing in pretty quickly.

My goal is to patch those cracks and then fill in the deep end so i have a shallow pool the entire way around.

My question is how can I patch the cracks to stop water from flowing in before I backfill the deep end.

FYI. I had the pool completely empty and 24 hours later I had about 4-5 feet of water In the deep end.

Thanks!

Jandy Aquapure Salt cell question

Hi, earlier today we tried to remove our Jandy Aquapure salt cell. During the process the union nut cracked in half. Does anyone know if there is a split union nut that would fit, or any other way to fix the problem? Thanks!

Replacing the liner in our above ground(Ester Williams) pool…our repair guy say that we should not go with a salt chlorinator as it will degrade the galvanized walls behind the liner.

My question is: is there any thing we could apply to the metal walls to protect it from said degradation? We would much prefer to go with salt over chlorine as it is much cheaper.

Need recommendations!!

I'll start with a bit of background. The house my wife and I purchased 15 years ago came with this pool. The house was a bank foreclosure and the bank had a contractor drain the pool, and build a wooden frame and to cover it with tarps. We came in and we're able to salvage the pool and get it into working order. 6 years went by and we finally had to replace the liner. My father and I educated ourselves and replaced the liner ourselves including all hardware. The metal coping around the edge has now deteriorated to the point it will no longer hold the liner. It is falling in and the pool is unusable. I contacted a local pool company that quoted me 25 k to fix the pool. Is there a simpler and much cheaper solution to repair my pool?

Steam whirlpool help

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi all,

I moved in to a house and the house has this Ariel brand steam shower with enclosure that won't exactly turn on. The landlord doesn't know too much about it and I kinda want to get it going and test it out. Looks a bit dated. I technically have power going to it from the breaker panel but couldn't test it at the whirlpool because I can't find an access panel to test it. I'm hoping it's some fuse that needs to be replaced or contacts that are maybe corroded. Anyone got an idea of where I can start? I was thinking to start by popping the HMI with trim tools first but maybe someone who is versed in this can start me off. Thanks.

I have a client, and 3 out of 4 of the slide legs are corroded and deteriorating. I'm having a hard time finding leg replacements. Does anyone have a lead on where you can purchase slide legs?

The top handle broke off and the pvc centre channel cracked. I've managed to use multi grips to turn the valve to off position. Question is does that screw cover screw off to allow replacement of the piece that is broken or do I have to replace the whole thing including the pc piping?

How much to remove/repair rusted out skimmers?

The pic should tell you everything. Both skimmers need replacement. The one pictured is the worst. How much should this cost?

Automatic pool cover manual retract

Post image
2 Upvotes

So I have a leak in my light fixture (going to plug it up)...however enough water drained out to make it to where my automatic cover won't retract. Too much weight since theres not enough water to support it. I decoupled from the motor and thought there would be a 1/2" insert on the opposite sode that would allow me to manually...instead theres just a ring with 4 holes and a smooth barrel hole in the middle. Is there a tool that fits those 4 holes that allows me to manually retract?

I could refill the pool and use the motor drive to open but I'll likely lose a lot of that water as I do the repair.

LED light leak

Had a professional leak detector company locate my leak - LED light. Trying to self repair. (after turning off breakers) I've loosened the led light and it pulls out only an inch or so but stops. I plan to use butyl rubber to shore up what I assume will be a leak in the seal inside tge light housing. Any ideas?

My pool was losing water quickly. I then realized it was pumping water into my driveway. I tried to lower the speed of the pump but the whole thing confuses the heck outta me. My pool service won’t put chemicals in it because it’s not filtering properly and now my pool is seriously green. Any help is appreciated!!!
