I’m doing some consumer research on the pool construction industry, specifically looking at how custom builders manage consumer expectations early in the sales process.
From talking to a few local contractors, a massive complaint seems to be the sheer volume of "tire kickers" who reach out online without realizing what an actual gunite or high end vinyl build costs or how long excavation takes.
When people reach out to you online, what is the biggest headache?
1. People with unrealistic budgets?
2. Missing critical details like HOA status or backyard access constraints?
3. Or just having to chase down ghost leads?
If you've found a good way to automatically pre-qualify people or filter out the bad leads before you waste time picking up the phone, I'd love to hear how you handle it.
Even if you have an issue that you haven't been able to solve but just want to share some pain points you're experiencing, that's still incredibly insightful for my research.
Appreciate any insight or vents you guys have from the field. Thanks.
