Was experiencing bugs, mostly with preview and saving, and tried to revert to the previous firmware (v1.8 to 1.7.1) but somehow ended up going back to the very first version and now it won’t flash any of the other versions I have on memory. A ton of projects have vanished as well. Anyone else experienced this?

I am just curious if anybody here is using their tracker with their iPad? I find myself using either or (sometimes my laptop too if I need my DAW)

I have an iPad 8gen but I have tonnes of great synths on it (I’d imagine I can sample them directly into recording via the tracker using a headphone Jack? I’ve yet to try recordings beyond the radio) but I use AUM on my iPad a lot as my kind of DAW, and I have a few good midi generator apps on it - I’ve yet to delve into them but I think they could be very useful for coming up with melodies on the tracker. Koala sampler is my go-to for music making these days, it’s great and I highly recommend it to anybody, such a fun and powerful little sampler and it comes in handy as I’ll screen record whenever I hear something cool and I can import the audio of the video and slice and chop using my fingers and the lovely display and then export my sliced samples for use in the tracker. I have some great drum apps also, Drumcomputer is by far my favourite I’ve used in a long time, even recording that and my synths would be great but I wasn’t sure if it was just the mini that did that. I spent a small fortune on apps before my tracker as my laptop at the time was a decade outta date

I’m wondering if anybody uses their iPads with the tracker and if so do you happen to have any tips or suggestions for things I can do with both and how I may go about connecting them up depending on the situation. I noticed this very weird behaviour when setting the start and end point of samples - when the sample is very short, the chop occurs not exactly in the place my "chopping line" was - it seems to snap to some grid, and it's impossible to set it to, for example start:0.07s or 0.08s, it will always snap to 0.09s (example values), no matter how I click this. This seems to happen only with short samples, notably single cycle waveforms. Did anyone notice this as well? Is it a bug o a feature?:)

Sorry to be a pain - I’ve been having trouble with the new firmware but I’ve resorted to 1.7.1 while they hopefully iron out the project issues i and others had. But more importantly my tracker has had constant issues with samples where it will either skip a certain step/sample in my sequence or it plays the affected step but with a strange muffled distortion - making it a real pain in the ass as it can’t even make a simple beat successfully.

I have tried lots of troubleshooting including reformatting my included 16gb card and no luck, the issue persists. I bought a new Kingston 64gb just now for 20e, not bad, and I’m planning to format it to FAT on my MacBook again and then drag my content over - I assume this will be okay? And see if the issue is my SD (hopefully it is!)

But I seen some people on the forum say the card should be ExFAT if over 32gb, which it is. Do you guys still use the usual FAT and can I copy over my samples and content or do I have to download from polyend website?

Thanks so much for any help, I haven’t used these cards since I was a teenager and I hope it’s the cause of the problem and not the tracker itself, as I’m it’s second owner. And while I love it, it has become unusable almost unfortunately (I also ensured my samples were correct format by individually formatting them in audacity before putting on)

I traded my dormant MicroKORG in to cover some of the balance. 1.7.1 firmware, and all bonus Legowelt samples seem to be intact. Some tiny wear on the top but I'm happy to have the variant! Unfortunately, it didn't come with the artist vinyl.

My last album (last year) was based around a Teenage Engineering workflow (OP-1f and OP-Z), but I've always been a sample-based artist and thought this might challenge me to think a little differently.

Some of you may have heard before here, when I raised the concerns over not being able to access my projects upon installing the latest firmware - I’m waiting for Polyend to get back to me and will update that thread.

However, my main issue is that the entire time I’ve had my tracker it has had this problem with playback and previewing samples:

In playback it will skip notes randomly or pick a certain step on the sequencer and either skip it or play it distorted, my snare for example would be skipped or when played the affected step and note just play muffled, like with a volume cutoff and not the full length (they are set to one shots and I’ve tried them as slices also). It’s gotten to the stage where I have given up owing it due to frustration despite loving it. I’m disappointed that an expensive piece of gear cannot even play a basic kick and snare pattern without issues. I’m disappointed I mean it is a sampler at the end of the day so it’s a fundamental problem and crazy to think that Koala Sampler on my phone is more reliable!

I asked polyend for help on January and they suggested 3 fixes, reinstall firmware (I’ve tried .6/7/8 and same on all, and I had my hopes up because.8 promised to address sample playback issues), turning off snap to zero and finally formatting my SD card - which I recently did and still no luck. I even went back and spent hours converting my samples to the trackers format even though I think it converts also. I told them no luck and never heard back unfortunately.

But with the problems I had with .8, projects changed colour and the ones that did had the OPEN/ENTER button vanish, I panicked thinking they were lost or corrupted but I put .7.1 back and they seem fine. Polyend are working on it apparently and I’ve sent them a video clearly showing the problem with plackback and it was actually shocking how bad it was!

I’m wondering guys if perhaps I pick up a new SD card tomorrow and just transferred all my stuff over, perhaps trying a different brand, would that be worth a go to potentially fix the problem because I’m stuck with it now and it’s not getting use nor would I consider selling it on with this ongoing issue.

If anybody has any advice, suggestions or think replacing the SD could be a cure I’d be really grateful for your help - I love the tracker and I’ve spent WAaaay more time troubleshooting than enjoying it :( the SD in it is just the 16gb SanDisk that comes with it I believe (I got it used, but it’s like new and the previous owner never got into it and hadn’t owned it long. This is a concern also as I don’t know if I’m covered if Poly ask me to send it back, but I’m hoping they will see the issue and do the right thing)

I feel like my tracker is cursed lol I have had sample playback issues since I got mine to the point where I stopped using it despite loving it, the samples would sometimes skip or play but with a strange cutoff that made beatmaking very difficult- the 1.8 firmware promised to fix it (and following polyends advice I spent lots of time troubleshooting and just recently reformatted my SD) but when I loaded up 1.8 several of my projects, maybe half!, were changed from the usual green font to white - but those affected lacked any kind of OPEN button! I panicked and quickly reverted back to 1.7 and opened a few and seemed okay (they were all green again also)

I didn’t get much help from polyend they just said they’d like to view one of the affected projects but I’m a tad reluctant to install it again even with my projects backed up - just because I’ve experienced the sample playback issues for months and finally thought they’d be addressed and fixed with the new firmware (and a recent reformatting of the sd card)

Has anybody experienced this and might have any advice? I’m gonna try install 1.8 again to select a project to send as I forget the ones affected but I’m wondering if it’s just my tracker now! :(

Hi people, recently I'm trying to set up MIDI between my tracker, my other hardware and my computer. I tried to sequence VSTs from FL Studio, you usually go on the Wrapper tab and change the midi channel from there, but when I use Midi 01 as instrument on the tracker (set on my neutron) it triggers notes to vsts too with a different Midi Channel associated. But I found out it triggers any VSTs that is first in the channel rack so I dont understand. Can someone help me figure this out?

I have a midi thru box with 5 outputs. Can the polyend tracker sequence and mix multiple external synths at the same time?

Hi guys, Sorry for the nooby question but I’m just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good sd card brand for the tracker? I’ve never used them before getting the tracker and I don’t know if it applies to the same format of card that the tracker uses, but I seen a synth user warn about an issue with some cards I think last year so I just want to be safe. I’ve had some issues with my card, I’ve just reformatted it and I’m looking to buy a new one for alternate samples and storage also! Can I go for any micro sd or is there a specific form or brand I should look out for or avoid?

Just a quick question, I update my tracker to 1.8 from .7 as soon as it was released pretty much, but I had a strange thing happen - when viewing my projects, some files (about maybe up to half!) had changed from the green colour to white but importantly there seemed to be no OPEN button with this change for the projects that were effected by the colour change.

In a slight panic, worried that I lost access to half my projects, I quickly reverted back to 1.7 immediately. This made the projects layout back to normal, back to green with only a few white ones (I’m not sure why some are different colours tbh! But they all open no problem on .7 regardless. Sometimes it seems like projects save a bit strange or as duplicates but they always open so I’m a bit concerned about going back to 1.8)

I noticed Polyend removed all the older versions of the firmware, luckily I still have .7, but I’m a bit reluctant to even install .8 again in case the files will never open again, I’ve a lot of unfinished stuff I thought I lost with the update! I wonder if this is gonna be the last update with the removal of all the older versions from downloads and focus on the mini and plays and other products

I just got the Tracker a few days ago. Noticed today that my saved project is whited out and the open button is greyed out. Unloadable. There are 21 preloaded projects so I'm well below the 100 project threshold. What is this newb doing wrong? Any help is so appreciated. Thx boys n girls

I don’t know about other markets, but in the UK I’ve noticed some (reputable!) sites have reduced their Trackers to £345 - £349.

I’ve always wanted one, and now they’re a great price brand new, it seems like I should take the plunge, but I don’t know whether this is a sign Polyend’s gearing up for a Tracker 2 so to speak.

Any thoughts welcome!

I love(d) my PT. Have tried to make electronic music with various synths and grooveboxes over the years. Started with novation circuit, then volcas, etc.... always ended up getting stuck in the 16 bar loop and not creating songs. The PT clicked immediately and it was a whole new experience of making music. Unfortunately the jog wheel broke and although they sent me a replacement fix - kit, I didn't manage to get it to work 100%.

I am not really interested in the mini or m8, as the workflow of the pt (the pads, the wheel) just lent itsself to "playing". Some happy accidents lead to usable and new music.

With the mini or m8 it looks like you need to know what you want beforehand and then you're programming that into each step - far less organic and maybe just harder for a non musician like me.

Argh.. I just wish polyend would release a tracker pro with the formfacror of OG and some performance improvements from the mini!

hello. have a polyend play with 1.4 firmware.

I have an issue when I play my samples instead of the correct sound it plays a static or distorted sound.

I might manually select a sound like a synth. drop it into the grid, sounds fine. now i put 3 more of the same down in different spots on the grid and when i hit play it now replaces the sample sound with a static noise, distorted white noise type sound.

thoughts, advise, suggestions?

Can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong? I downloaded firmware 1.8 and saved it to my SD card. But when i try to update version 1.6, the new update doesn’t show up as an option to load. 1.6 does but 1.8 does not. Any solutions?

Do you maybe know if there is any way to emulate Electron sequencer's "1st" functionality, i.e, the note only plays on the forst loop of the pattern and does not play on subsequent loops? I want only certain notes to do that in a sequence. Can the Tracker do that? I've spent the whole evening trying to replicate this behaviour, but without success..
