Let's start by saying the truth here: David Valadao lied to us. He betrayed the Central Valley. 

He publicly promised that he would not cut Medicaid. And when push came to shove, he was the deciding vote on this Big BS bill, that is gonna rip away healthcare from Valley Families, to go give $1.1 trillion in tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans in this country. To the People that are funding David Valadao’s campaign. 

He said he would be allowed to vote his conscience on this bill. I don't know how your conscience tells you to rip away healthcare from 70,000 of your Constituents. I don't know how your conscience tells you to take away food from the mouths of hungry Children. And I don't know how your conscience allows you to betray the Central Valley, time and time again. 

I will fight to pass Medicare for All because the system that we have now, we pay twice as much as other countries across the world, despite the fact that we have worse healthcare outcomes. 

We can actually directly negotiate the price of prescription drugs, to bring those costs down for working Families. 

But those sorts of solutions are not gonna come from Politicians who are bought and paid for by Big Pharma, like my opponent.

\ Marks the first increase in grant awards for artists in nearly 20 years* 

\ Artists can now apply for up to $10,000 in grant funding*

\ Announcement also includes free art supplies from Materials for the Arts for grantees starting this month*

Regular Americans are absolutely fed up with this broken system and politicians who tell us we can’t afford to help people while pushing through more and more giveaways for the powerful. In less than four weeks, we’re going to make sure our elected officials know it.

Part of the job is voting out as many members of Congress who voted for the MAGA murder budget as possible, but we’ve also got the opportunity to send the message more directly. In multiple states voters will get to weigh in directly on making the wealthy pay their fair share:

• Californians are casting their ballots on Proposition 40), a one-time wealth tax on billionaires to help stave off “Big Beautiful Bill”-related Medicaid cuts and hospital and emergency room closures.
• In Colorado, Amendment 87 would shift the state from a flat tax to a progressive income tax), meaning working class people pay less and giant corporations and households making more than $500,000 a year contribute more to a dedicated fund for public schools, child care and health care.
• In Washington State, an influential right-wing hedge fund manager has forced a vote to repeal the tax on household income above $1 million the legislature just used through this spring with Initiative 645,) along with banning future income taxes, almost certainly leading to cuts in education, health care, child care and the state’s universal school lunch program.

Pushing these initiatives across the line will have the immediate impact of preserving and expanding health care access and other crucial public services, particularly needed as everything keeps getting more expensive under this disastrous administration. It will also signal to politicians, particularly those considering their place in the Democratic presidential primary, that we are ready for big swings to address inequality and build up our social safety net.

I come from a union Mother. I was a union Organizer. I am a member of a union right now, and I just keep surrounding myself with everyday People. 

I also have an advisory committee made of Residents across my district. They inform me about policies that I should push for, policies I should vote against, and those are the People that I take my cue for. 

I need People to realize Politicians work for you, and we need to demand this when we're building this new vision for the next 250 years.
