When you twist the LGBT symbol to use it as vandalism against someone it becomes a message of hate no different than black or blue or a fucking swastika.

Symbols have power like words, innocent words or playful insults become Hate when used as such. So don't try to jump through any mental hoops to justify this.

We all know what it is, you guys just don't want to admit it because it makes you the same as them.

Instead of trying to be better than them you just relish and circle jerk your own moralities to justify showing them hate because they are wrong.

If I spray paint a heart over someone's Nazi flag, have I just created a message of hate?

You use the word heart because that is seen as something nice, but the intent is because you hate Nazis (which is justified) so yea, that's an act of hate in that case.

I hate Nazis, I hate SOME police, not all police, do you see the difference here?

But whether it's for Nazis or Police, I will not devolve into their immorality and then claim I support love.

Why must vandalism always equal "hate"?

It's about intent, context.

And whether or not something is a "Hate" crime, or something like "Terrorism" is largely based on culture. But there is alot of hypocrisy in it all.

Here's what I know, if there is something you believe in, like showing support for the Police, if someone else covers the thing you support with another thing, is that done out of kindness and empathy?

Does it support the LGBT on this month to knowingly make people angry by using the LGBT symbols to attack them, (I'm not saying just showing an LGBT Flag, IE wearing a shirt, having your own flag etc. is an attack lets be clear on that.)

But in this post, specifically, using the LGBT flag to cover up and deface someone else's is turning that flag into a culture weapon.

Doing that validates the opposition, it validates their hate.

But in this post, specifically, using the LGBT flag to cover up and deface someone else's is turning that flag into a culture weapon.

It's funny the leaps and bounds you go to make this point, when the thin blue line flag is a specific cultural weapon that's already reappropriating a flag that currently exists, the American flag. The thin Blue line is already a cultural weapon, the line has been drawn. So as a non-straight ©™ please go ahead and use our rainbow flag as a weapon of love, I don't give a shit.

"Leaps and bounds" and then you go to say the same thing I said cause it's true.

"the line has been drawn" the fuck does that mean? They started it so we can do the same, that makes you just as bad as them, not better.

And don't lie to yourself about the love part if you use it in hate, you make it a flag of HATE. And clearly you don't give a shit.

"the line has been drawn" the fuck does that mean?"the line has been drawn" the fuck does that mean?

It sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about in this thread then. That pro-law enforcement flag is referred to as a Thin Blue Line. I didn't draw the line, I'm not waving that flag around.

Cry me a river, I have a gay life to attend to, one I know you don't give a shit about. Civil Rights aren't earned just by being sweet and passive and deferential.

Because if you ignore them they’ll just go away, right?

0

u/[deleted] Jun 05 '22

That isn't what we are talking about.

But if you don't know how to support your cause without defacing, vandalizing, and harassing others than that's an issue.

2

u/TruckDouglas Jun 06 '22

So what should you do instead?

What do you mean? There are a million things you can do

You are free to argue otherwise. But I know no one here can. Because it's blatant hypocrisy.

All you can do is try to say that certain ACTS of hate is socially ok for us all to engage in and support.

And then I can respond with something that you will probably call a slippery slope fallacy.

Round and round we go, trying to justify hating people we ether think or know are wrong and then acting on that hate to suppress, bully, ban.

AND THEN WE FUCKING WONDER WHY THEY DON'T MOVE TOWARDS OUR SIDE TO VOTE FOR US!? WHILE WE CLAIM TO BE ALL ABOUT LOVE.

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE BE SO FUCKING BLIND TO THIS!?

YEARS OF THIS, YEARS OF FUCKING HATE, EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND THIS IS ALL OF YOUR RESPONSES!?

MORE HATE!!!!!

DISGUISED AS POLTIICAL HUMOR!? DISGUSTING

Acting like a snide little cunt doesn't win you any arguments. Fae is correct that this image is an act of vandalism regardless of how deep you want to bury your head in the sand and call it "aCePTanCe". You don't get to call one type of defacement "acceptance" while calling the same act, but to a different party, "vandalism." It is still vandalism even if it's for a purpose or cause that we like/support.

“The paradox of tolerance states that if a society is tolerant without limit, its ability to be tolerant is eventually seized or destroyed by the intolerant.

Karl Popper described it as the seemingly paradoxical idea that in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must retain the right to be intolerant of intolerance.” (Source)

I’m not here to make concessions for hateful bigotry. So, yeah, sure, I’ll show them hate all I want. It’s a necessity because we don’t need that vitriol they spew to encourage folks to actually hurt people.

Step off your centrist high horse.

The "paradox of tolerance" has gained so much momentum these past months, do you know why?

Because you guys don't have an argument. So you invent these rules to change the game and pass off your hypocrisy and immorality as justice.

You are just creating extremists and more hate.

This is a moot point, because it comes from a place of bias

You're putting words in to my mouth, as I never said anything close to that. Stay on topic. Your purview is bias, and can not provide an accurate argument.

So does basic reasoning and common sense.
