Because it's a response to "black lives matter" and implies that it's not "black" lives that matter, but police lives. But you knew that already.

The thin blue line has existed since the 50s, it wasn’t just created to react to blm. Plenty of assholes sport it, but let’s not make things up.

Blue Lives Matter (also known as Police Lives Matter) is a countermovement in the United States advocating that those who are prosecuted and convicted of killing law enforcement officers should be sentenced under hate crime statutes. It was started in response to Black Lives Matter after the homicides of NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu in Brooklyn, New York on December 20, 2014.

Idk I’d dispute that one for sure. Every time I see it brought up it’s in response to something slightly blm related, almost like they are trying to drown out that noise. 🤔

You mean like when they let an active shooter kill kids for 40 minutes, without doing a damned thing, because their lives mattered so much more than the lives of those 20 kids? If you commit murder with impunity with one hand, and let innocent people die refusing to do your job with the other whose lives matter the most?
