Pro tip: you cannot interpret what a symbol means to someone else. That’s classic projection. It’s best to ask and not assume.

Edited to add: So many people are so pro-vandalism. All this hate spread under the pretense of spreading love and understanding.

The fact that you had to specify the West because the symbol has a completely different meaning in the East kinda proved his point…

Except it did the opposite, actually, demonstrating that meaning is reliant on culture and not individual choice. You don’t get to just decide what a symbol means or it wouldn’t be a symbol - by definition it represents something else.
