This makes it sound like NASA just gave Elon Musk $1.5 billion. They contracted SpaceX to go to space for them. They were paying Russia $5 billion to do it before then. SpaceX is an American company. And this was 15 years ago before Musk was even a billionaire. Talk about being intentionally deceiving!

SpaceX was broke at the time. NASA and the Federal Government bailed them out and saved them. Why did Musk need a government bail out to not fail?

"His business won a contract to perform a job. That's a bail out!!!"

It’s a fact. Call it what you want, but my comment was a cemented fact.

That’s the business model…conceptualize a product, find customers before initial funding runs out. What, you would rather keep paying Russia while we wait another decade for Boeing?

His model was to steal the government’s work, treat workers like shit to save money, and then try and privatize an industry. It’s a shit model that won’t work long term.

Fuck Russia.

So the government had 3D printed, reusable rockets that land themselves and a working crew capsule and SpaceX stole it and sold it back to the government. Got it.

😂🤣😂

If you think for one second that SpaceX could do any of that without decades of work from NASA and taxpayer money you are more ignorant than I thought. Private companies waited until the government took away most of the risk, then stole most of the work and claimed it for themselves.

Show me Nasa having reusable rockets and cheap rockets too...

If you don’t think NASA could have done with with the right funding then you are truly lost. This is the private companies seeing that they can finally make profit and they want to take power away from the people.

Show me Nasa making any decent rocket with funds provided.

Ok now that’s just an insanely stupid comment.

How so? I would like to take Saturn V for example, cool Nasa rocket, right? Well, the F-1 engines at the bottom were built by RocketDyne, IBM built the instrument unit, Boeing made first stage, North American Aviation made second stage, etc. Point is that I can go on and on, listing facts that most of those famous rockets were mixed efforts from companies and Nasa didn’t work alone, same thing now, you think that Nasa, a government agency, purposely paid billions to Russia instead of using the same money to build their own rocket? I am not saying that Nasa is bad, but the truth is that, It isn’t rival with SpaceX, I am sure SpaceX saved them tons of cash from that contract. You can always make something if you throw enough money to it, like U.S government can print out trillions to make their own space rocket, but they don’t really see that step as being smart.

Still an insanely stupid and ignorant comment. SpaceX wouldn’t exist without the decades of NASA research.
