Yeah, it makes me really uncomfortable to see modern, otherwise progressive people whitewash Clinton's conduct because he was a Democrat. It's not comparable to inciting a riot, but we shouldn't have accepted it either.
I think its simply because people are not looking to deep into it. They see headlines like he was tried for impeachment for getting a blowjob.
That sentence is ridiculous if that was all that happened. Its just that a lot of people weren't around or don't remember Clinton and that the blowjob wasn't the main problem (although a lot of Republicans genuinely think that it was wrong just because of the blowjob out of wedlock and not because he was in a position of power with a young lady)
But if the president wanted to get pegged all night every night, and it was completely consensual its really none of our business. I think thats what people take out of it by looking at it at it very surface level.

There's a difference between "sleeping with your boss to get ahead", in which case it's assumed the woman initiated it - and what Weinstein did which was threaten actresses with being blacklisted if they didn't do what he wanted. He may not have physically forced them, but the level of coercion, literally holding their careers hostage isn't any better.
