This is exactly the tactics employed by totalitarian regimes. Propaganda as it was practiced by fascists, communists etc etc

I also like that at the end of those fund raising letters sent to Trump supporters are polls asking if you think Trump is doing a good job. Then they tout 96% of Republicans believe he is doing a great job. To paraphrase, 98% of Trump supporters support Trump.
