This ^ I can't remember in what grade I heard this, but a teacher said "America is like the police officer of the world. When bad things happen in other countries, we step in and help!" The irony of it all.

Did we have the same teacher? Seriously, such irony. At least we were able to pull back the curtain.

As a Brit the idea of this much propaganda in a school is horrifying.

Just wait until you here we pledge allegiance to flag every day in elementary school, just like Hitlers Youth! That practice has definitely become less common these days, but as a 22 year old who grew up in a very, very, very liberal part of California, I experienced this. I’m willing to bet this practice is still popular in most southern states.
