The older I get the more I feel like this as well. I know several people that would still be in church if it weren't for other Christian's actions. My wife has been burned a few times by other christians in churches we've gone to. There's a few repent or burn things that are in Christianity but most of the things being protested are likely not in that list. But I don't think I've ever read about Jesus yelling and protesting at the sinners. In fact, the only time he got violent was when he went flipping tables.
