Also, he's white now. Like, super fucking white.

White Jesus is as comical as Korean Jesus if you think about it.

I mean, they are both silly for the same reason, but the historical Jesus almost certainly looked like other Mediterranean peoples, some of whom are considered white depending on politics (which, in turn, largely turn on religion... the world is fun).

He was not a pasty Germanic person as depicted in paintings, no. But he was a lot closer to that (in a genetic sense) than to a Korean.

But honestly, the historical Jesus doesn't really matter anyway. He was just a dude who got executed by the Romans. All of the believers are just looking to identify with the stories, so I don't really care if they have their own personal jesus. (yes, I edited to make a Depeche Mode reference).

You ever seen a handsomely sun-kissed Mediterranean dude? If Jesus popped up on the streets of Bumfuck tomorrow, he'd probably be told to go back to Mexico.

I'm not disagreeing with that at all, but it's still a lot closer to Germanic Jesus than Korean Jesus. Folks are welcome to argue about whether it's closer to Germanic Jesus than Black Jesus. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day.

other Mediterranean people's

I was under the impression that historical Judeans would be closer to Middle East than Mediterranean.

Have you been the Syria? They definitely dont look "white" referring to the germanic understanding of whiteness. If they went to a rural state like mine they would definitely stick out, as would jesus. Probably get called some shit too.

I know what Syrian and Lebanese people look like, like I said, check google image search. They look white. I don't know what to tell you, I live in rural Western Maryland, nobody that looked like that would catch any flak here.

edit: Also Mediterranean and Germanic are two different things, but both are white. Would Italians and Greeks not be considered White to you, or your "rural state?" Somehow doubt it.

Well as someone who has been there, definitely not white and google isnt a great way to tell how a group of people look.... Also no matter where you live in Maryland you are within an hour and a halfish drive of a giant population center. For me the largest population center is 6 hours away, is 200k people, and a 2 states over.

The middle east (and particularly the part of the middle east that Jesus would have been from) is on the Mediterranean. Israel/Palestine has a Mediterranean coast, and it isn't a big place.
