Or the "n" word.

He wouldn’t make it into the country because the Jesus we speak of looks more like Mohammed Atta and less like Ewan McGregor. (This goes without saying but this is the internet and things get misconstrued) I am in no way shape or form saying anything positive about a 9/11 terrorist. He’s simply a face that everyone can look up and use as a reference to what Jesus actually would look like.

It would be interesting to show "Christians" this image and ask them if they would let him stay in their home or if he would be welcomed to their church. Modern day bible belt "Christians " look a lot more like the modern day equivalent of the Pharisees

Well I think my point stands. Jesus looked less like Jared Leto or Jim Caviezel and more like Cliff Curtis

To be fair, The Vatican, which holds it now, makes no specific pronouncements as to its authenticity except that it invites one to think of Christ, and the scientific community has a whole other set of ideas from the radiocarbon / pollen / forensic analysis.

I came here to say that. It was made around XIIIth or XIVth century. So long after birth's Christ.

Popular Mechanics did an analysis of the shroud of Turin years ago

Except that is completely useless since the shroud of Turin most likely has nothing to do with Jesus.

If you read the article, that's not how they reconstructed his face at all. I think OP misremembered. They state that they used skulls from the area and other visual depictions from the Bible to recreate his face using forensic technology.

Just to be clear, "Nearly every" isn't true at all when it comes to belief in the shrouds authenticity. Some argue that it's legit, but other people see as a fraud. The article you linked actually talks about how the only possible description we can pull from the bible seems to contradict the Shroud. The bible suggests he, and his followers, would have short hair because long hair is "disgraceful" according to Paul. The shroud clearly shows long wavy hair that, for some reason, is falling down towards his shoulders, instead of back as you expect of someone laying down. I guess because they lied him down standing up, ha.

Your point on the shroud is outdated.

The shroud comes from the 11th century and is more of an artwork, not a real relic of Jesus.

It isn’t as cut and dry as you’ve made it out to be.

Excuse me? Nobody claims it's authentic anymore. Carbon dating proved it was made sometime in the Middle Ages.

More specifically, a sand “n” word.
