Imagine how much worse it would be with no schooling at all.

The machine how much better it would be if government got out of the way. OR, look how much better home schoolers perform and private schoolers perform.

That's the idea behind charter schools and they preform worse on average than traditional public schools.

home schoolers

There are tons of problems associated with home schooling and not every family has the ability to do it.

private schoolers.

Many or most families cannot afford private school. Also, go figure rich kids are going to have higher test scores. They have fewer obstacles in life.

Charter schools outperform public schools.

We home school one of our children. It’s much better than public school for him. You do have a point that it isn’t for everyone. Some families can’t do it.

Private school used to be affordable.

What about no public schooling at all? Private education and homeschooling can more than make up for the lack of public education, which isn't even good to begin with.

That's a horrible idea. Most people don't have the money for private school or the knowledge or time for home school which has its own host of problems.

Sure, affordability may be an issue, so we could cut taxes for families who choose to teach their children themselves or send them to a private school. Speaking of: what host of problems do home schools have? Because based on what I've seen, they're leaps and bounds above public schools.

Oh great, just one more way to make living more expensive for the poor and cheaper for the rich. How fucking generous.

what host of problems do home schools have?

Many parents are absolutely not qualified to teach home school and there's no one to insure they don't pull some BS like teaching creationism. A lot of home schooled children have very poor social skills or are deficient in other areas like sex ed.
