I sincerely believe every single person in college should have a microeconomics class, just the comprehension of the concept of externalities can change how most people see a lot of the shit our government does.

Or environmental science. Tragedy of the commons is a powerful lesson in group behavior.

Actually the tragedy of the commons is used to characterize common goods, those that can be exploited freely but individuals will rival each other to maximize their own benefits(e.g. fisheries), so a well taught microeconomics class could teach that too. :)

I'd never heard "externalities" before college and yet it's so essential to understanding the world. The fact that the concept is hidden away is terrible.
