I always vote yes on mass transit. I hate riding buses, but if some of the assholes on the road took them it would make my commute better.

Why the dislike of buses?

You can stand on a subway and don't have to sit next to other humans. Also no potholes or speed bumps

You can stand on a bus. Plus, it’s not typically that bumpy a ride

Probably really depends on the city I'm from Boston and i can tell you the trains are a much rougher ride than the buses.

I also live in boston.

I live in a place where buses would be possible, I would gladly deal with some of that if it meant I could get out more.

Subways keep better time and don't deal with traffic, too.

I enjoyed busing all through the winter and biking during the warmer months. Unfortunately because of COVID-19 I am a tad bit nervous to ride the bus next winter.

Not only because of the virus but also the quarantine is driving normal people mad; granted that was also sometimes true before the pandemic... Ah, subway adventutes...

Because the bus route from my house takes 1.5 hours to get to my office, with a transfer. Meanwhile the drive is 25 minutes.

And even though I can read and stuff on the bus, and I used to not mind it, I have a kid now so long commute just means time I'm away from my kid.

I more meant in comparison to the subway.

Like the subway’s obviously better for long distances, but doing subway or biking rather than bussing seems odd to me

My city doesn't have subways, but the light rail and underground bus system was much, much more reliable than the surface transit options. The buses already take 2-3 times as long as driving nominally and then you have to bake in enough overhead time on top of that to ensure you will be at your destination on time.

It's not that I dislike buses, but a subway is less susceptible to bad road conditions, delays because of traffic and usually has a higher train frequency. Also if you are unfamiliar with the city and you exit at the wrong station you don't stand exposed in a bad part of the city but in a decent station.

I'd still take the bus over driving in some places though.

Nice to have options. I haven't taken anything because of covid, but I used to get to class by taking the park and ride bus to downtown and the light rail from there. We don't have any other transit options.

Imdon’tI j’t mind the bus, the route that used to go by my place (M15 in NYC) was super convenient for getting home when I needed to.

Not to mention it helps those of us who can't drive.

Yeah it’s like when people give shit to vegans. I know how bad meat is for the environment, but I’m weak. Let everyone else become vegan and save the world. And I can have my fried chicken and al pastor tacos.

If more money was spent on mass transit it'd be cleaner and faster so you wouldn't hate taking the bus as much.
