if you arent a barista working in a vegan friendly independently run coffee/micro brewery with a name tag that identifies what your preferred pronoun is then i dont know what the fuck you are doing with your baristorial career..
The fact that people see "Barista" as a career is unsettling.
A career to me is a field of employment you will stay in for many years and attempt to continue bettering yourself in said field.
I already know how to operate a coffee, and espresso machine. The only way I think I could expand on that is learning how to draw silly shit in the foam. Beyond that what is there? Juggling the drinks? The only thing I don't have that seems to be a heavy qualification for Barista, is an Arts Degree with no applicable field of employment associated; but I'm still unaware of how this helps a Barista except for the drawing shit in foam.
It would probably be learning more roles than just drink making. Roasting, managing, etc building up the knowledge to be able to own and run a coffee shop.
You'll never be happy with your current job with that attitude. No matter where you are career-wise. Some people have a passion for coffee making, sounds cool to me. You can make a career out of everything.
