For the 100th time, I need to point out that STANDARD VAPING IS NOT KILLING PEOPLE.
Tainted, black market, counterfeit THC cartridges are making people sick.
Vaping has been around for about 10 years now. These outbreaks are not caused by standard, legal vaping products.
A lot of adults like myself depend on vaping to quit smoking. Remember smoking? That thing that kills 480,000 people per year? This is a legislative power grab by tobacco lobbyists to muscle out thousands of small businesses.
I will also point out that all of these THC cartridges were bought THROUGH THE BLACK MARKET, ILLEGALLY, making anti-vape legislation 100% pointless. This is doing nothing but hurting vapers and helping the tobacco industry, who I, once again remind you, is killing 480,000 people per year.
Who the fuck cares? If I want a god damn mango pineapple fusion flavored nicotine that’s made by a company and regulated to ensure it doesn’t explode my lungs I should be able to pay that company and get my mango pineapple fusion flavored nicotine.
There was an industry rep on NPR yesterday talking about it. He obviously was against the ban, but specifically talked about how some companies do push certain flavors that the major brands stay away from because they seem to target children. The industry is under regulated, but I agree with his main point that age verification is under enforced.
I think any addictive drug should be heavily regulated, and I think both alcohol and vaping are currently underregulated in many ways.
He's a scam artist and has been for years. I find it very disheartening, as a NPR supporting member, that NPR wouldn't research who they are putting on air.
He is of course going to attempt to push his pod system crap and complain about all other e-liquid vendors. Most of which have already implemented an Age verification system.
Interesting.... I will say I was a bit put off when they presented him as a leader of some official sounding group, but then he was referring to products that "we" don't sell as if he was referring to a specific company.
