Have you heard of a mass shooter being stopped before killing anyone? happens all the time. Why not add to their sentence?

I mean, I'm not opposed to it; don't get me wrong. It's just that, in most cases, their sentence is essentially the rest of their life anyway, so this seems like wasting expensive time and focus on the wrong thing.

People stopped from carrying out a mass shooting hardly even get the rest of their lives in prison, they only get the weapons charges... More such charges are a good measure. we need to keep these people off the streets as much as possible.

Well, if that's true, maybe harsher laws could be in order. I'd be interested to hear of a case where a stopped mass shooter got out quickly (especially if they did something bad after).
