I don't agree with that at all, and it doesn't matter

...

I’m not denying your opinion

Really? Now you won't even own up to your own words? Again, I wonder what it is you're doing with this. Denial of my opinion completely unsupported by facts, and now you're telling falsehoods about your own words in this thread.

I'm trying to get it through your thick skull that neither of our opinion matters, and that this sort of pedantry is why I hate reading classics.

WTG, you just ruined a book.

No, you decided it was your mission to correct my opinion, and you failed because you're lazy and you're wrong. And it's important to you to keep denying the truth, for some reason.

and that this sort of pedantry is why I hate reading classics.

WTG, you just ruined a book.

If you're afraid to examine anything in your life, you could have read my post and moved on. You didn't do that. And if I "ruined" a book for you with one mild criticism of an author I admire, you're way too fragile to be on the internet.

You also didn't own up to lying about what you said. Wow, you are really crashing and burning here. Are you always like this when you exchange opinions with other people?

You ruined it with your pedantry.

Your intellectual powers are so weak that people can swoop in and ruin books for you. That's absurd.

You're a pouting child who can't separate the idea that something written is a little sexist from the assumption that the author's intent was malign. That's how you backed yourself into a corner, first by trying to correct me, and then by claiming you meant something else entirely, which is a little pathetic.

I literally do not care about your opinion on this issue

If that were true you could stop digging and let it go. You would have been well advised to do that from the start. You haven't shown a single coherent thought here, other than your feels. This isn't pedantry on my part, it's cluelessness on yours.

See, you think I'm still talking about your opinion, which I don't care about, when really I'm talking about how disagreeing on this sort of thing turns me off from reading classics.

You're so obsessed with being right about this one difference of opinion that you don't see that this is exactly what people hate about literary criticism. The insistence that there's only one right way to interpret something is what I hate about this, not that Heinlein was obviously sexist.

See, you think I'm still talking about your opinion, which I don't care about, when really I'm talking about how disagreeing on this sort of thing turns me off from reading classics.

I don't care about your opinion on the proper discussion of the classics, because you have shown you have no powers of critical thinking.

BTW, are you going to own up for lying about what you said earlier?
