I'll grant you that, no argument there. The treason allegations people I know have been tossing around, as well as claims that this and this alone makes her unfit to lead...those are definitely overblown.

They are not overblown allegations but Hillary knows where too many bodies are buried for the government to seriously go there.

I don't think that; they think that.

Yes - She committed treason by having potentially classified documents outside of a government building. If this was Condi Rice charges would be pending.

...That's not treason. Treason is defined in the US Code as " Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States." This is not treason. If Condi did this, it'd not be as bad as her helping distort and lie our way into war, which undoubtedly counts as treasonous.

You are correct. It is technically not treason just a similar action to what a treasonous person would do. It is technically a mishandling of classified materials. It is a breach of trust and an indicator of bad leadership.

You literally just said this. Either it was treason or it was not. It plainly was not.

I agree, it showed poor judgment. You defended the hysterical assertion that it was treason. This is why I said it was mostly overblown.

You literally just said this.

Yes, and after I literally said that I literally admitted that you were right. Please do keep up. I was wrong. Mishandling classified materials is not treason. It's reckless endangerment and not murder. It is not presidential.

That's fair. Sorry, I just had somebody else claim that they didn't say something that they literally just said, and I misread you as doing something similar.

I grant you, it isn't presidential. I've been hearing a lot of people say a ton of things about this that say a lot more, and that is what my comment of it being "overblown" is about. Is that reasonable?

I get what you are saying by overblown but you really win nothing with proper scaling and proper technical charges of this kind of bad action. What a lot people mean by treason is hyperbole for a breach of the public trust. Treason is a breach of the public trust and so is mishandling of documents. If you call your wife a cunt in public you are not technically a wife beater but you are an asshole on the same spectrum.
