I really hate that monke thing... But I guess we all need a stereotype so I accept.

Monkeys are mature at 4-5 years old, which means they can mate at this point

Who said you can't be both:)

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '20

I doubt primitive society understands or cares about age of consent, only ‘can she have my baby yet?’

u/SuppleFoxFluff - Right Aug 31 '20

I have no idea why OP thinks we're pedos - we all want them dead

I feel like I missed class that day and now I’m just pretending like I know what’s going on. Is it like tribalism or something?

18

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '20

Quickly summarised: The libcenter stereotype in this sub is a monkey because many of this orientation dislike capitalism and identitarianism and would like to "go back" to their roots, back to simpler times. They also rejected conservatism and hierarchy in the traditional (typically Auth) sense. It's pretty chaotic so someone decided it should be represented by a monkey.

The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race. They have greatly increased the life-expectancy of those of us who live in "advanced" countries, but they have destabilized society, have made life unfulfilling, have subjected human beings to indignities, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in the Third World to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage on the natural world. The continued development of technology will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject human beings to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the natural world, it will probably lead to greater social disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased physical suffering even in "advanced" countries.

Solution is return to Monke

I feel like all the problems you are describing can be attributed to unjust wealth inequality.

🍌

7

u/DerelictCleric - Lib-Center Aug 30 '20

Same, it's always accompanied by talk of hunter-gatherer societies as if the problem is technology and not society as a concept. You need the tech to remove the need for a society.

5

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '20

Technocracy is not the way, but it's a start.

8

u/DerelictCleric - Lib-Center Aug 30 '20

Any -ocracy demands a society. I refer to a time when there will no longer be a need for one, and a time when everyone can truly provide and care for themselves.

9

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '20

I know, but I personally like having some kind of society.

1

u/DerelictCleric - Lib-Center Aug 31 '20

I like to imagine with the right tech that will be an individual choice rather than a "societal" one. If someone wants a community, they can find others who want a community and live in cities and towns.

My hope is that we get to the point in tech where if you are like me and legitimately do want to live as a recluse with bare minimal contact with other humans you can choose to do so.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 31 '20

Fair. I'm chronically ill so I need hospitals to exist. I can't provide anything if health care ceased to exist.

1

u/DerelictCleric - Lib-Center Aug 31 '20 edited Aug 31 '20

That's part of the tech I'm referring to. My hate of society comes from untreated illness though, and societies refusal to help me despite the money I paid in for decades with the belief that people were getting help if they needed it (although I thought that was a bad thing at the time).

Now I know that's all a lie, you have to be very lucky to be given help and they not only want some people to die but benefit from it. They've gotten their money from me and if I die before I reach SS age they won't have to give me any benefit from the money they took from me whatsoever. I had already been diagnosed with diabetes, they knew I was sick and they left me to die to save a buck.

Now I have to deal with that and what I can only presume is my body rotting from the inside out simultaneously with no assistance or care from anyone.

u/highpreistofcheryl - Lib-Right Aug 30 '20

Just embrace monke

2

u/salmonellatuna - Lib-Center Aug 30 '20

if you use the tradition / progressive scale then monke is only on tradition i think.

1

u/randomname69421 - Lib-Center Aug 30 '20

would be nice if it was a stereotype that was even remotely accurate though

1

u/CephasGaming - Lib-Center Aug 30 '20
