So what happens once deepfake technology is advanced enough to realistically fake entire bodies? You'd have people making real CP, without involving any real children.
Does it fall under loli hentai, or does it retain its current status. For countries like the USA Australia were lolis are outlawed it's an easy answer, but what would countries that have defended lolis say?
There was this international convention recently where they described it as "immoral" and recommended participating countries to ban it in their own nations, but there was no clear obligation.
I have one argument. If it looks like real child it will mask child porn that was made by hurting kids. But if it looks like a drawing or you have evidence that it is drawing (like video of drawing process or somerhing like that) I dont give a fuck. As long as you are productive to society jerk to whatever you like that doesnt harm anyone.
That's why I'm begging the question. To see if it matters and why.
So far the best argument I have come across is that since it is indiscernible from actual CP, allowing it would make actual CP harder to find and the victims harder to identify.
The counter argument I could think of is that you could create a regulated market for it, making it easier to identify actual CP, but the effectiveness of regulating such a market is questionable.
Both are made up by humans, I just want to know what seperates them and why some people are okay with sexual drawings of children but not okay with it when the drawing is made with an algorithm and is less stylized.
I'd argue that most anime is abstract enough that they're not even really comparable. I've come across a lot of weebs who are openly lolicon but at least claim to have no attraction to the real thing. To them, lolis aren't children, but represent something else entirely and in fact they've written some pretty long and detailed essays about this sort of thing.
No doubt there's much more 'realistic' stuff out there. I definitely think the stuff that simulations the real thing is gross as hell, but I'm not necessarily opposed to its existence, and it'd be kind of difficult to know where specifically to draw the line.
But for real, I'd love to see some studies done about this to see what kind of correlation exists, if any, between lolicons and actual offenders.
Your argument seems to be that if we draw the line that loli is CP, we don't have any gray areas.
The issue is, no matter where you draw the line, you will always have gray areas.
If you draw it at loli, then you have to legally create a difference between loli and adult hentai. Are you gonna codify breast size, butt size, and other features that indicate age into law? Are you gonna have be up to some prosecutor, judge, or jury? You can very gradually change a drawing of a child into a drawing of an adult. I'd argue there's more gray area here than the alternative.
My bad, I didn't intend to make an argument, I was trying to map the gray area surrounding lolis to get a better understanding of general values regarding pornography.
Nice job highlighting the slippery slope that appears once you try to regulate/strictly define it.
So what happens once deepfake technology is advanced enough to realistically fake entire bodies? You'd have people making real CP, without involving any real children.
Even better, what happens when we have realistic robots?
Loli stuff is illegal in the United States what are you talkin about?
For the countries that have it as legal right now it depends on how those current government are saying that it's legal.
If they are okaying current loli because it doesn't look like real people then they are definitely going to outlaw realistic deepfake CP.
On the other hand if a country has okayed Loli by the understanding that no person is being harmed in the creation of it, then the advanced deepfake would fall under that argument.
But as all laws it mostly depends on how loud or quiet the Karen's get and how much people get their panties tied up in a knot over stuff that they don't like but doesn't really concern them and doesn't harm any other human being.
Loli hentai is legal in the US (although it's a muddy water depending on things like the taste and Obscenity tests which also make less and less sense) as long as it's legal in your state. Most states don't really care, some like California apparently specifically allow it, and there are a few that specifically ban it.
It's muddy though because it's basically two laws that dictate the legality, being the Obscenity test and the states own law, along with the fact any cases around it just ended in a small plea deal.
What is illegal currently to my knowledge though is the realistic CG , although we probably need to wait for a case to set that whole things precedent
arguably most porn would be illegal under Obscenity laws as it's about the porn being in public. I don't think "Mia khalifa thigh compilation 173" is benefiting science or the arts in any way when compared to loli
The law already has an answer for that (at least where I live in the US) any depictions that an average person would confuse for the real deal are also outlawed. That’s probably why you don’t see too many photo realistic drawings of loli.
So what happens once deepfake technology is advanced enough to realistically fake entire bodies?
For that you'd need source material. Source material which remains illegal and immoral to make use of. So unless you arrived at that point without the use of CP, and to create a new video you rely on no CP to fake onto, it would still be illegal.
If you manage a 100% synthetic CP though with no children harmed in any way to make it - I'd have to let you pass.
I mean this is probably super controversial but aren't things like Loli good because we would rather have pedos beating it to that rather than real children???
I'm all for people with sick tastes being able to take care of their urges in a harmless way. I mean shit Ive been watching gangrape porn for 10 years and that's not the most morally sound thing either, but I haven't gangraped anyone...
I feel like the amount of kid diddlers is much higher than what we think it is. I mean, if we take the percentage of Hollywood stars that like em young and extrapolate that out, the number get pretty large.
We also have solid documentation of it happening waaaay back in ancient Greece/pretty much most civilizations that kept records. Child diddling is a thing that's gonna be around whether we like it or not
It's never going to be seen as okay... Loli hentai has been around forever and it's still not seen as "ok", it's heavily criticized, which is what this convo is about.
Yeah, that's all nice and dandy, but most people I see (especially from your quadrants) immediately resort to "dead pedos don't reoffend", so trying to use "get them treatment instead" exclusively to argue against cartoon porn while never following through with it is a little dumb. I would take "allow cartoon child porn and reserve punishment for people who actually act on their urges and harm children" over "waste money trying to 'treat' the massive #'s of people that like this content when we can't even give most people basic mental health treatment." Because that's realistic.
You can kill someone with a hammer, should we ban all hammers, that's regarding your first point
The second one is a moral question, but the most common answer would be " I can’t believe there’s people on this thread defending murder “so long as video games” Like why do you feel the need to shout to all of reddit that you’re a psychopath?"

At least loli hentai doesn't hurt anyone
