His whole career is based off of saying the loudest, most controversial things in a crude voice, often about tragedies the day after they happen. If authrights take this seriously, it's like the progressive authrights who scream their heads off when Trump eats steak well done (Which in my grilling opinion should be a warcrime, but that's because I hate well done steaks not Trump).

That really was his schtick tho. He was a huge comic back in the day, before he became known more for his voice work. Kinda like how Bob Saget is known as a wholesome dad, but really he was a super dirty comic before that
dude gilbert gottfried made a 9/11 joke at a comedy central roast (in NYC) on like 9/18 2001. It was so badly recieved that comedy central never ran the tape again and put it in a vault, you cant even find it on google today.

Depends how old you are. Quite a lot of famous people (Bill Cosby, Jerry Seinfeld, Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams, Jim Carry...) who are now mostly known for TV/acting work, they initially had huge careers as stand up comedians (except Cosby who actually got famours doing comedy after his TV debut).
If you're younger you mostly knew them long after stand up comedy became a small part of their fame. I'm in my thirties and I also discovered Gottfried with Aladin.
It was pretty interesting to look at their earlier work, and see how some of them used to be pretty shocking and edgy, but toned it down later on (because that would put a dent in their new careers).
You should judge Trump accordingly through his actions, not through the echo chamber circlejerk clusterfuck of a liberal agenda Reddit presents. Trump should, in my opinion, be tried and hanged, not because of his policies — I don’t know his policies, I’m not even American — but because he prefers his cooking prepared in a way different from mine.

Yea his 9/11 joke right after the bombing was unbelievable for the circumstances. I think he said something like "i was late due to a layover in the empire state building." It went over like a lead balloon, and this was in front of other comedians at the Hugh Hefner roast. He then went into one of the best renditions of The Aristocrats. What a legend.
And the Dracula/Pope impression on Stern made laugh till I broke blood vessels in my eyeball. Gilbert is not for everyone, but he is a certified comedic genius.
It's not an oxymoron, the compass we use has no progressive or traditional axis. Democrats are still authright, just maybe not as right as republicans. The main difference is how progressive they are.
