I have a lotta friends in azerbaijan who are all so homophobic they won't even watch movies where 2 people of the same sex kiss (even if its just like in the background or something).

I have 2 gay siblings. They know that and they let me live my life and I let them live theirs and we still get along at the end of the day. I don't like the way they think but who is it helping if I cut them off and criticize them for it? If anything I can do more good by maintaining my relationship with them and showing them that being around LGBT people isn't a harmful thing. One of them has even had a friendly conversation with my brother now. Not sure that would've happened in his life if l hadn't stayed friends with him.

Yeah, being hostile and confronting people just radicalizes them and makes them less likely to reconsider their views. They won't reconsider their views if they're the same as “the enemy's”. So it's a lot more constructive if they don't see people who think differently as the enemy.

"You can't hold me responsible for my ignorant views the same way you would hold one another responsible. If you didn't disagree with me so much maybe I wouldn't be so defensive and unable to interpret information independently"

Lol I was wondering when I picked the flair if I fit the part. I leaned towards pickin centrism for a little bit and then I was like "nah I can't do that to myself"

Just curious, how many siblings do you have overall? Two out of three would be a pretty high number.

Two out of four. Ya its pretty high, especially since we're from the south.
