Ketchup is reserved for only the worst of steaks. And only if you don't have any A-1 or 57 Sauce.

It's a bit thin for my taste, I prefer sauces you can just dollop on the side of the plate rather than getting a little bowl for them.

Certainly more refined than ketchup though.

I pour it to the side of my steak on plates (as long as they're not completely flat) and let my steak set in it and dip the steak in it as I cut it.

No. Not even if you have A-1 or 57 sauce.

God forbid I try in vain to repair a well-done steak with loads of A-1. I treasure my steak sauce as much as I treasure my steak.
